The new sitcom *Film Club*, featuring Aimee Lou Wood and Suranne Jones, premieres tonight on BBC Three. The first two episodes will air together, starting at 10pm.
The show centers around Evie and Noa, two close friends who meet each week for a film club. Their relationship is complicated when Noa gets a job opportunity that requires him to move, leading them to wonder if their feelings could be something more than friendship.
Evie and Noa are best friends who have a weekly movie night. But their connection might be deeper than just a shared love of film.

Jones portrays Evie’s strong and devoted mother, Suz, while Adam Long plays Josh, Evie’s attractive boyfriend who often helps around the house.
Liv Hill, known for *The Serpent Queen*, will play Evie’s sister, Izzie. Arian Nik from *Daddy Issues* joins the cast as Kam, alongside Fola Evans-Akingbola (*The Night Agent*) as Samantha, and Owen Cooper (*Adolescence*) as Callum.

This series marks the first screenwriting credit for Wood, who collaborated with Ralph Davis – known for his role in *House of the Dragon* – who also appears in the show.
Wood previously stated that they’ve been writing their show, *Film Club*, for ten years and are thrilled and thankful to be working with the amazing team at the BBC.
I’m truly honored to be working with Nabhaan and Suranne, two actors I’ve long admired, to make this project a reality.
Jones described her character, Suz, as a very strict and demanding mother, and she also complimented the writing of Wood and Davis.

Jones shared their admiration for Aimee, describing her as a genuinely funny and talented performer. They were delighted with the script Aimee and Ralph Davis wrote together, calling it clever, charming, and fast-paced. Jones is excited to play Aimee’s overprotective mother in the project, especially since filming will take place in their hometown.
Executive producer Alison Jackson expressed her excitement about the cast, calling them a “dream team” for the show. She believes the talented actors perfectly complement the show’s excellent writing and the team is eager to start filming.
Film Club airs on BBC Three and BBC iPlayer tonight at 10pm.
