Superman trailer release date confirmed – and it’s very soon

As a lifelong comic book enthusiast who has been following Superman‘s adventures since I was a kid, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming teaser! With James Gunn at the helm and an impressive cast that includes Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, David Corenswet as our beloved Man of Steel, and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, it’s like a dream come true. The fact that this new DC Universe chapter is being launched with Superman makes it even more special.

This week, we’ll unveil the initial trailer featuring David Corenswet as the main character (Superman) for the first time.

The clip will give DC fans an extended look at Corenswet in the role of Clark Kent/Superman opposite Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor.

On December 16th, Warner Bros shared some exciting news on their social media platforms. They’ve announced that a teaser will be released on your screens this coming Thursday, specifically at 2 PM in the United Kingdom.

In addition to Corenswet, Brosnahan, and Hoult, the cast of Superman includes Isabela Merced portraying Hawkgirl, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner/Green Lantern, Anthony Carrigan as Rex Mason/Metamorpho, Wendell Pierce as Perry White, and Pruitt Taylor Vince as Jonathan Kent.

Under the direction of James Gunn, this upcoming film (originally named “Superman: Legacy”) is set to kick off the newly expanded DC Universe, marking its debut in this extended cinematic world.

This new DC era was kicked off this December with animated series Creature Commandos.

The cast for the seven-episode series features Indira Varma, who played roles in both “Game of Thrones” and “Obi-Wan Kenobi”, along with Sean Gunn from “Guardians of the Galaxy”, David Harbour and Alan Tudyk, both known for their work on “Stranger Things”, as well as Zoë Chao and Frank Grillo.

In July, Gunn shared that filming for Superman was completed, posting a snowy image of the cast from the initial week of shooting in Norway.

“Thank you all from the bottom of my heart,” he wrote in the caption.

It has been a privilege. The goal, if you will, has been like Superman, yet it’s the hard work, the shared laughs, the feelings, thoughts, and creativity we’ve nurtured on set that I’ll always cherish – and for this, I remain eternally thankful.

Superman will be released in cinemas on July 11, 2025.
