Superman Fans Are Obsessed With This Surprising Scene in the New Trailer—And It’s Not the Action
The initial trailer for the new Superman film is out, and it’s the unusual scene that has fans buzzing with anticipation.
In a fresh twist, a newly-released three-minute excerpt of the film directed by James Gunn – previously teased in December – showcases an intriguing conversation between Clark Kent, also known as Superman (portrayed by David Corenswet), and Lois Lane (played by Rachel Brosnahan).
As an ardent admirer, let me tell you, even a simple, dialog-only scene featuring just two characters in a room had me utterly captivated. No action, no mind-blowing special effects were needed; the dialogue alone was spellbinding.
Most people responded favorably to the fresh video, with numerous individuals expressing their admiration for the captivating chemistry displayed by Corenswet and Brosnahan, particularly in the initial scene, on the popular platform that is now known as X (previously Twitter).
One fan posted: ‘Kicking off the epic Superman superhero movie trailer with two individuals chatting intensely in a room, displaying electrifying chemistry. Has the realm of superhero films made its grand return?’
‘Someone commented: ‘Although I’m not fully convinced by the visual look, James Gunn appears to excel at developing the characters of Clark Kent/Superman and Lois Lane. David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan seem perfectly suited for their roles. The chemistry between them was the most captivating aspect of the preview.’

As a lifestyle connoisseur, I can’t help but commend David’s exceptional acting skills, particularly the transformative power he wields in shifting his voice from Clark Kent to Superman. It was truly gratifying to witness director Gunn, at 58, opt for an exploration of the more fragile dimensions of our Steel Man, adding depth and complexity to this iconic character.
One user commented: ‘Does anyone else find it interesting how David seamlessly transitions between portraying both Clark Kent and Superman?’
‘Another individual expressed their admiration for the way Clark appears more authentic and emotional now, even shedding tears [tear emoji]. #Superman’
In this particular scene, Lois interviews Clark, who’s known as Superman, an action that might be seen by comic book enthusiasts as a daring or adventurous choice.
At the outset of the conversation, Clark exudes warmth, but matters soon become more complex when Lois challenges him regarding his controversial move to participate in a conflict that the U.S. administration appears displeased with.
In response to tough questions from journalist Lois about his failure to consult with the U.S. President, although he had been acting as an American representative, he becomes noticeably agitated and exclaims, “I was only representing myself… and trying to do what’s right.
Lois reflects that she too might have hesitated in a similar predicament, thinking about the possible outcomes, but then Clark exclaims dramatically, ‘People’s lives were at stake!’
Enthusiasts were equally thrilled to catch a glimpse of characters hailing from the DC Comics universe such as Nathan Fillion’s Green Lantern, Guy Gardner; Hawkgirl portrayed by Isabela Merced; The Engineer played by María Gabriela de Faría; and undeniably, Superman’s superpet Krypto.

Without a doubt, the most captivating antagonist portrayed is Lex Luthor, played by Nicolas Hoult, who is shown bursting with fury and rage near the end of the video.
Additional characters feature Jimmy Olsen, the journalist (portrayed by Skyler Gisondo), the villain Metamorpho (played by Anthony Carrigan), and Mister Terrific (acted by Edi Gathegi).
Towards the end of the trailer, Luther implies that Superman might not be human, rather an ‘it’. He expresses frustration because the Steel Man has inexplicably emerged as the center of global discussions.
Corenswet becomes part of a series of actors portraying Superman in movies, with roots tracing back to a 1948 serial film featuring Kirk Alyn.
1951 marked George Reeves as the lead actor in the initial Superman movie, while it was Christopher Reeve who portrayed the iconic Man of Steel in the 1978 blockbuster film, Superman.
He continued playing that character again in Superman II, Superman III, and Superman IV: The Quest for Peace. Later, he decided to end his association with the series.
1995 brought a drastic change for Reeve as he suffered paralysis from the neck down due to an unfortunate horse-riding accident, leaving his life in a completely different orientation.
In October 2004, the man who played The Remains of the Day entered a coma and passed away only hours afterwards at the age of 52.

Starting from 2006 with Superman Returns, Brandon Routh donned the cape, followed by Henry Cavill assuming the role in Man Of Steel (2013), then appearing together in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) and Justice League (2017).
Rather than following the usual path of Superman films that delve into an origin story, the new Superman movie will primarily focus on the character when he is in his mid-twenties.
The movie serves as the launchpad for a fresh franchise spearheaded jointly by James Gunn and DC Studios co-chairman Peter Safran. Subsequently, “Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow” is slated for release on June 26, 2026.
Superman – directed by James Gunn – is set for release around the world on July 11.
