David Corenswet shares how his wife helped him balance being a new dad and filming Superman
In a chat with ET Online, David Corenswet shared that juggling his duties as a new dad and tackling a major role like portraying Superman was quite a challenge. He acknowledged that it was his partner, Julia Warner, who played an essential part in helping him handle these responsibilities effectively.
Corensweit stated that his wife is the one who receives all the praise since he’s working long 12-hour days, leaving most of the parenting responsibilities to her. Nicholas Hoult added humorously by saying, “She was the one wearing those boots,” which made Corensweit chuckle in agreement. Hoult then quipped, “She’s the one making you shine.
Corenswet mentioned that his real-life parenting kept him humble while portraying Superman. He stated, “Playing Superman is all about having the right energy – like flying around and battling villains, but then coming home to clean up baby spit and change diapers.” The actor continued, “It keeps things balanced for me.” Rachel Brosnahan, who plays Lois Lane, chimed in, “To remind him not to get too carried away with all his superpowers.
Corensweit has been married to Julia Warner for more than two years now. He shared with PEOPLE that they discovered her pregnancy only a few days after he found out about his screen test for the role of Superman in James Gunn’s movie. “Julia told me she was pregnant just two days following my discovery that I would be tested for the Superman part,” he reminisced.
Later on, he shared that during the initial phase of their pregnancy, they decided to maintain the news confidential. The actor further mentioned, “We held onto two significant secrets, only aware of them by the two of us. It was an intense time as we were privy to these two big mysteries, just the two of us.
