Wow, it feels like Supercell snuck up on us with this one! Out of the blue, they dropped a new game called “Boat Game” on Wednesday. It’s all about setting sail, engaging in action, and exploring islands – sounds intriguing, doesn’t it? They even have an alpha version ready, and lucky for us, we can sign up to get early access to this exciting new adventure at sea!
Details about Boat Game surfaced back in 2024 as a third-person shooter project
Though the title may appear simple, the game appears far from commonplace. I dare say you’d concur if you watched the alpha trailer shared by the team. Interestingly, the Community Manager unexpectedly posted the trailer link on his official X account without prior notice.

Reminded you that back in May of last year, Supercell had been secretly developing a third-person shooter game, which they referred to as “boatgame.” Job listings for this upcoming project were posted, suggesting that things were well underway.
I suspect that many people may have various opinions regarding the nature and potential aspects of this game, but let me offer my perspective. While it’s true that there are battles involving boats depicted in the footage, implying that it’s solely about sea battles might be misleading. In fact, one moment you’re sailing, and the next, your characters find themselves on an island, participating in gunfights instead.
It appears that various elements seem to be drawn from several different games. For instance, the gameplay seems reminiscent of “Boom Beach”, while the art style hints at the monster-hunting action RPG “mo.co” that’s set to launch soon. Additionally, there are animated aspects that remind me of “Squad Busters”. The limited visuals shown so far are quite promising.
Essentially, we’re still figuring out many details about the gameplay in Boat Game. Will it involve player versus player naval battles, treasure hunting, or some other type of gameplay? At this point, I don’t have the answers. However, what I can confirm is that the first alpha test signup for Boat Game is now available! If you’re interested, you can register to be among the early testers.
