Sunrise weatherman Sam Mac shares tragic family news – after announcing he’s expecting second child

As a dedicated follower of Sam Mac’s social media, I have had the pleasure of witnessing the beautiful journey of his life through his posts. Today, I was saddened to read about the loss of his beloved cat, Catra. Having lost a pet myself, I can relate to the deep sorrow and sense of loss that comes with saying goodbye to a cherished companion.

Sam Mac has shared sad news with his followers.

The Sunrise weatherman, 41, announced on Instagram on Friday that he has lost his beloved cat.  

Today was a particularly challenging day for him. He had to part ways with our beloved Catra.

Catra, who was born without the ability to see, underwent an unproductive eye correction operation as a young kitten. The procedure came close to claiming her life. Unfortunately, no one expressed interest in taking her in.

As a lifestyle expert, I can tell you this: I took her in for what was meant to be a short-term stay in my home. Thirteen years have passed now, and I’m deeply thankful that she made my house her permanent residence.

“He continued, ‘Catra was an exceptionally kind-hearted being. There wasn’t an ounce of malice in her. Although blind, she possessed an acute sense of touch. Her purr was as loud and constant as a lawnmower. Above all else, she delighted in belly rubs and chin scratches.'”

Sam said he lost his previous cat, Coco, a few months before his first child Margot was born.

“He lamented that we had misplaced Catra just a few weeks prior to the arrival of our second child. Deep down, I feel that they were leading us towards the next stage of our lives.”

One thing I’d love to convey at this moment is the tremendous happiness a rescued animal can bring into your world. (Sam expressed)

In my true conviction, they seem to intuitively recognize the care and affection you have bestowed upon them. The memories of your kindness will be cherished deeply by them.

Partner Sam and Rebecca James, aged 35, announced in February that they’re having their second baby together.

The presenter took to Instagram to confirm the jovial news with an adorable family photograph.

I can hardly contain my excitement as I share this delightful news! They’ve recently confirmed the arrival of their second bundle of joy, and while we don’t know its gender just yet, we do know that it’s due to make its grand entrance in August!

Their jovial news comes just weeks after the couple confirmed that they were engaged in December.

I’m thrilled to share that my partner and I, Sam and Rebecca, were blessed with the arrival of our beautiful daughter, Margot, last September 2022. Our journey as a couple began two years prior to this joyful moment.
