Summer House star Lindsay Hubbard responds to criticism about her decision to monetize her pregnancy

As a die-hard fan of Lindsay Hubbard, I can’t help but admire her tenacity and savvy business acumen. This woman is not just a reality TV star; she’s a shrewd entrepreneur who knows how to make the most out of every opportunity. And let me tell you, when it comes to monetizing her pregnancy journey, Lindsay has hit the jackpot!

Lindsay Hubbard, a cast member on Summer House, has spoken up in response to those who criticized her for earning income through her social media posts about her pregnancy.

38-year-old reality television personality has recently become a mother for the first time with her partner, Dr. Turner Kufe. They’ve chosen to call their newborn daughter Gemma Britt Kufe. This exciting news was shared earlier this month.

Recently gracing Jason Tartick’s Trading Secrets podcast, I couldn’t help but express my feelings towards individuals trying to manipulate me over my choice to commercialize posts about my motherhood adventure.

Previously, the public relations specialist clarified that several of her supporters were quite upset due to her posting a sponsored message to share her pregnancy news.

Explaining her rationale behind the move, Hubbard said: “She revealed that she was turning her pregnancy announcement into a money-making opportunity.

‘And it’s like, “Why not? I’m gonna make the announcement anyway, why not make money from it?”‘

She added: “In April, when I discovered I was pregnant, I opted for a Clearblue digital pregnancy test.

How about rephrasing it as follows: ‘Instead of waiting, why don’t we approach them and ask, “By the way, I’ve been using your test, and I have some exciting news – I’m expecting a baby. Would you be interested in sponsoring this joyous event?”‘

Hubbard gleefully disclosed that she had secured a significant $28,000 for a sponsored post, marking it as her most profitable brand partnership so far.

She then noted: ‘This is how I make my money. I’m not doing PR anymore, I’m not sitting behind a desk.’

She also mentioned that she’s managed to earn more than $100,000 in 2024, largely due to leveraging her public relations experience.

Elsewhere, the TV star recently revealed that she is in the process of figuring out her living situation with her boyfriend after welcoming their first child together.

As a fervent admirer, I can affirm that although they haven’t taken the plunge of cohabiting under one roof yet, their bond is so strong it feels like they’re living side by side. The idea of them moving in together seems to be a topic of ongoing conversation.

In a recent interview with People, I shared that he’s been with me day and night for the past month straight.

Lindsay and her boyfriend started dating a year before they welcomed their baby together.

She shared that it was just a few months into their partnership when she found herself pregnant. She felt uncomfortable adding extra responsibilities, such as raising a child together, at this early stage of their journey.

Previously separated Hubbard, whose split with ex-fiancé Carl Radke was shown during the finale of Season Eight of Summer House, clarified that although their relationship may have progressed a bit unconventionally, she preferred to take it easy.

In retrospect of my previous experiences, and particularly my recent relationship, one thing has become crystal clear to me – nothing can ever be taken for granted.

When we start dating and you become pregnant so swiftly, it made me hesitant to add additional stress to our relationship, as a pregnancy and a newborn bring immense, lasting pressure all by themselves.

“I’d prefer saying, ‘Take things one step at a time.’ And yes, it might seem a bit jumbled up, but I didn’t feel like complicating matters further by adding another task to the pile.

She mentioned that they’ve been discussing the possibility of relocating, taking into account what would be best for their child in the long run.

She too proposed that they might start living together earlier than expected, since her present lease terminates next year.

She said, “My lease ends in June.” She often discusses school districts and makes choices about where to live considering the schools suitable for Gemma. (This version keeps the meaning intact while using simpler language and a more conversational tone.)

Currently, Hubbard mentioned that they often stay at his place anyways, hence they’re moving towards there, but at a pace that suits them.

She informed the outlet that although legally it’s my apartment, it essentially functions as our family headquarters, shared by me and our daughter.

She mentioned that he’s been transporting lots of clothing and hygiene items back and forth between our apartments. Essentially, he spends most of his time with both me and Gemma, seldom venturing out on his own.
