Suits’ Gabriel Macht addresses Harvey Specter return in spin-off series
Suits star Gabriel Macht has addressed his return as Harvey Specter in spin-off series Suits: LA.
In every season of the courtroom series, spanning a total of nine, the performer took on the role of the lawyer, with the show chronicling the lives and cases of Harvey, Mike Ross (portrayed by Patrick J Adams) and their colleagues, all set within the legal landscape of New York City.
Although the original show ended in 2019, it wasn’t until 2023 that news broke about a spin-off series called “Suits: LA.” The official reveal took place in February 2024. It was later confirmed that Patrick J. Adams would be returning for a guest appearance, set to feature in three episodes.
He explained to PEOPLE that he’s returning for the fans, not for himself since he’s already acted 134 times. He shared that his initial enthusiasm for work as an actor was low because he wanted to focus on raising his children.
I found a method that seemed appropriate for my family, and if I could somehow hand over the responsibility to Stephen Amell and the cast in Los Angeles, I’d be thrilled. If there was any way I could contribute to the show’s success and help it take flight, it would almost feel like bestowing a blessing upon it.
As a gamer, here’s my take on it: Before I even stepped in front of the camera, Macht confirmed he hadn’t filmed his scenes yet. But, let me tell you, I was buzzing with excitement about showrunner Aaron Korsh’s vision for the show. From what I’ve read so far, a few episodes are fantastic! They perfectly align with what I expected.
If you enjoy watching the show, you’ll find yourself immediately captivated. After reading some scripts, I can see the connection between the characters of Ted Black (portrayed by Amell) and Harvey, and I’m eager to watch how their relationship unfolds.
Suits: LA premieres on February 23 on NBC.
