Vicky Pattison has shared that she’s unsure about having children and feels overwhelmed by the expectations to start a family now that she’s married.
As a lifestyle expert, I’m always fascinated by how people navigate big life decisions! I recently read an interview with the lovely Strictly star, who shared some personal insights about her and her husband Ercan’s plans for the future – specifically, their thoughts on starting a family. They got married last summer, and it’s sweet to see them openly discussing such a meaningful step.
She told Women’s Health UK that she’s afraid to take a break because she’s worked incredibly hard to build her career and doesn’t want to lose the progress she’s made.
Vicky, looking radiant in photos taken for the interview, shared that she strongly supports egg freezing, but acknowledges it’s a choice made easier by her financial stability.
Women don’t need to feel pressured by unspoken expectations about when they should achieve certain milestones. While we’re often told we can ‘have it all,’ that’s not always realistic. Many women find they need to make compromises and prioritize throughout their lives.
I first met Ercan when I was thirty-one, and we decided to take things slow to give our relationship room to grow. It turned out to be the best decision I ever made. I had been feeling trapped and like my life was on autopilot, but now I feel completely free.

The former Geordie Shore star also explained that she and Ercan are on the same page about wanting more time before deciding if they want to have children.
She shared that her mother had given her permission to choose her own path, saying, ‘If you don’t want children, that’s perfectly okay.’ She found this incredibly empowering.
It seems like our society is increasingly accepting that women can live fulfilling lives without having children, and I personally still feel uncertain about whether I want to become a mother.
I’ve finally reached a point where I’m happy with the person I’m becoming, so the idea of stopping now feels frightening.
Vicky is partnered with professional dancer Kai Widdrington on this season of Strictly Come Dancing, and they’ve been consistently improving throughout the competition.
Last week, Vicky shared that her husband is eager for her to be eliminated from the BBC dance competition, as they’ve been unable to be intimate until the show ends.
The Channel 4 presenter explained that her husband, Ercan, won’t be intimate with her right now because she’s exhausted from practicing for her show.

She shared with the Mail on Sunday that after almost ten years together, they have a strong and fulfilling relationship, but are currently facing a difficult time.
You’re clearly worn out from training so much each day, and I’m still juggling a lot on top of that! I’m working on my podcast, keeping up with social media, and I just released a clothing line – it’s a really busy time.
She continued, explaining that after spending all day dancing the Charleston, you wouldn’t want to go home and do something equally energetic like, well, jumping on the bed.
He’s being understanding with us right now, even though he might be the only one of my close friends who secretly wants me to fail.
They announced their engagement in 2022 and then married last year, with the whole event filmed for a Channel 4 documentary called My Big Fat Geordie Wedding.
She danced a spirited Charleston to the song “A Little Party Never Killed Nobody” from The Great Gatsby last Saturday night.
But it wasn’t an easy week for the North-east native.
Both she and Kai became sick and had to cancel their appearance on the Strictly spin-off show, It Takes Two.
The previous winner of I’m A Celebrity shared a photo of what she’s using to get better, like throat lozenges, cough syrup, ginger shots, oranges, and juice, as she fights off an illness.
After recovering from an illness, she had a small accident in rehearsal that chipped her tooth. Later, her dog playfully scratched her, leaving a small cut on her face.
Vicky Pattison stars on the Women’s Health cover and Just As Well podcast.
