Strictly’s Thomas Skinner enjoys a trip to the pub ahead of his dance floor debut as he continues to battle cheating scandal  – after ‘secret mistress’ vowed to expose him

Just hours before appearing on Strictly Come Dancing on Saturday, Thomas Skinner relaxed with a visit to a pub in Essex.

Despite recent headlines about a brief infidelity just weeks after his May 2022 wedding – which he called a ‘moment of madness’ – the 34-year-old star of The Apprentice seemed cheerful. He’s set to be paired with his professional dance partner for the first time on the pre-recorded show.

Amy-Lucy O’Rourke, who had a secret affair with him, later told the Daily Mail that their relationship lasted about three months. During that time, she said he told her he was in love with her and dissatisfied in his marriage.

On Thursday, Thomas spoke to his 700,000 followers about the difficult times people face in life.

Alongside a selfie, he penned: ‘Good Morning You Lovely People!!’.

Thomas shared that he had a good start to the day with a workout at the gym and is excited to continue dancing with his partner on Strictly.

‘Remeber [sic]….Never give up, because one day you will look back and be glad you didn’t!

‘Now go smash it! You are ten times stronger than you can ever imagine.

Just hours before, Amy-Lucy had defended herself against online trolls, stating she wasn’t someone who intentionally breaks up relationships.

On Monday, the aesthetician posted on her Instagram Stories, thanking everyone for the kind messages she’d received.

Look, everyone gets a little negativity online, and I’m no exception. But honestly, I don’t give those comments much thought. It’s pretty clear to most people that whatever claims are being made just aren’t true, and that’s what really matters to me.

Amy-Lucy explained she didn’t share the details of the affair for financial gain or publicity. Her motivation was simply to express how hurt she feels by how she was treated.

The complete truth is still unknown, and the details are overwhelming. I’ve had to provide a lot of evidence – recipes, texts, phone records, and even security camera footage. I’ve even shown a message where someone says they can’t believe what I’ve been through, and I believe I’ve definitively proven what happened.

This isn’t about financial gain; it’s about expressing my honest feelings and addressing how Thomas treated me.

The Daily Mail have contacted Thomas’ representatives for comment. 

This follows comedian Katherine Ryan’s comments on the situation, after Thomas claimed his wife had forgiven him and they were past the issue of his cheating.

Last week, Thomas publicly confessed to having an affair. In a heartfelt interview, he said the most important thing is to be honest and take responsibility for your actions.

‘Because we are in an incredible place now. We are strong. It’s forgotten about.’

In her podcast, Telling Everybody Everything, comedian Katherine criticized Thomas’s wording, saying it wasn’t accurate. She explained that the word “forgotten” felt particularly strong and upsetting to her.

He seems to have moved on, believing she’s forgiven him and life has returned to normal. But I assure you, his wife still remembers everything.

Katherine also pointed out that Sinéad was going through a difficult time when the affair happened – she was newly married and busy raising their three young children, making her particularly vulnerable.

She went on to explain that shame is also a factor. Many women in these situations end up feeling responsible for a man’s wrongdoing, essentially taking his shame onto themselves.

She’s young and in love with him, but it’s incredibly painful when trust is broken, particularly when it’s a complete surprise. They seemed to have a good relationship – he even said they weren’t fighting.

Katherine shared her opinion on the woman Thomas was having an affair with, using a highly offensive term to describe her. However, she also pointed out that Thomas’s wife has no legal or formal obligation regarding this other woman, and therefore isn’t responsible for the situation.

Her actions weren’t ideal, and the way she treated men might be considered disrespectful, but it’s arguably clever to appreciate what these men have to offer without expecting more.

She shouldn’t have to be the woman at home who’s upset, keeping what happened a secret from her friends, and having her life turned upside down, all because of something someone did on a reality TV show decades ago, and then being expected to forgive them.

‘And he’s like, “it’s forgotten.” I promise you, your wife has not forgotten’.

Katherine believed the affair would continue to bother Sinéad, and thought she might have worried about it being revealed when he joined Strictly.

She accused him of hypocrisy, pointing out that he talked about traditional family values while secretly being unfaithful.
