As someone who keeps a close eye on popular culture, I can tell you there’s no need to worry about Strictly Come Dancing disappearing anytime soon! Head judge Shirley Ballas recently assured everyone that the show is built to last – she believes it will continue thriving long after she’s moved on. It’s great news, especially with some recent chatter about its future, and really speaks to the show’s enduring appeal.
Okay, so I just heard, and honestly, I’m reeling. Apparently, the people in charge are totally freaking out! It’s awful – one of the former stars was arrested, and the reports say it’s over a really serious allegation – they suspect him of rape after something happened at a BBC event. I’m just… shocked. It’s all over the news, and I can’t even process it right now.
Honestly, I was devastated when I heard about this new scandal with the show. It’s just one thing after another! It feels like barely three months ago we were all reeling from the news about that other actor – the one who was arrested on suspicion of… well, you know. It’s just awful, and I’m so worried about what this means for the show I love.
As a huge fan, I was so relieved to hear Shirley say she’s confident Strictly will be on our screens for years to come! It really put my mind at ease knowing she feels so secure about the show’s future.
The dancer emphasized that the show is bigger than any individual, recalling similar concerns when she took over as head judge from Len Goodman in 2017.
Shirley believes that ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ is the most important thing, even more important than the people who appear on it – the presenters, the dancers, and herself. She feels the show truly belongs to the audience.

She told The Sun On Sunday that when she joined the show in 2017, she was a complete unknown, and people were worried it wouldn’t succeed. There was a lot of uncertainty about whether it would work out.
‘It carried on ticking and it’ll carry on ticking long after I’m gone and kicked my clogs.’
Recent scandals surrounding Strictly Come Dancing have sparked rumors the show might be cancelled. The Mail on Sunday investigated these claims, and you can find Katie Hind’s complete report here.
A celebrity from the show Strictly Come Dancing was arrested Thursday on suspicion of rape, following an incident at a BBC event.
The man, who is not being named, was arrested last month.
The person who claimed to be a victim wasn’t participating in the show as a dancer or contestant, but they met the man because he worked on the BBC program.
Hertfordshire Police confirmed a man had been arrested, adding that inquiries were ongoing.
This scandal is the newest in a series of issues for the award-winning show, following an arrest of another male actor on suspicion of rape just three months ago.

In August, authorities arrested a man suspected of rape and sharing private images without consent.
A source told The Sun that the recent arrest is a terrible development for the BBC and a deeply upsetting situation.
Despite everyone’s best efforts to keep things calm and avoid problems, this situation has still occurred, according to sources.
‘The BBC is taking this very seriously and will absolutely offer support to all concerned.’
Strictly has been plagued by a string of drug and bullying controversies in recent years.
Wynne Evans faced accusations of inappropriate behavior during a recent series after making a comment at a press event that was considered sexually suggestive. Although he initially claimed it wasn’t intended that way, the BBC later fired him.
In 2023, Amanda Abbington publicly stated that Giovanni Pernice had been unkind and treated her poorly, describing his behavior as abusive and cruel.
Although he was found not guilty on most of the accusations, the investigation did confirm some of her claims that he verbally bullied and harassed her.
That same year, Zara McDermott, known from Love Island, was deeply upset after a training session with Graziano Di Prima. He had kicked her during the session and, as a result, was removed from the project.
The television network has begun investigating a family-friendly program after allegations surfaced that two of its cast members used cocaine.
During the investigation into drug use, one of the actors was also reportedly seen drinking alcohol on set, with crew members noticing a smell of alcohol on their breath.
Jamie Borthwick, an actor on EastEnders, was let go after 19 years with the show. This followed the release of a video showing him using offensive language towards people with disabilities while filming Strictly Come Dancing.
To ensure the safety of the dancers during rehearsals for the 2024 series, the dance show had to hire chaperones, as required by the company’s safety policies.
As a lifestyle expert, I’ve seen firsthand how crucial support is on set, and this production really prioritized it. We made sure a member of the production team was always present during rehearsals, offering real-time assistance. Plus, we significantly boosted support for both our celebrity contestants and our amazing professional dancers – everyone deserves to feel confident and prepared!
A Celebrity Welfare Producer and a Professional Dancer Welfare Producer were also introduced.
Just days after an arrest on October 13th, longtime Strictly Come Dancing hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman announced their departure from the show.
A BBC representative stated they couldn’t discuss the police investigation while it’s still happening.
According to Hertfordshire Police, the claims concern an event that took place within the county.
Hertfordshire police will continue their investigation, led by the Public Protection team.
Because of the serious accusations made, we can’t share any more information right now.
