Strictly’s Ore leaves children ‘really upset’ over home sale

Ore Oduba, who won Strictly Come Dancing, is going through a separation from his wife, Portia, who has frequently shared how upsetting the split has been for her.

Things have gotten even worse for the former TV researcher, as their family home is now being sold, which has deeply upset their two young children.

In 2022, Portia and Ore, along with their children Roman, age eight, and Genie, age four, moved into a newly built home in Tunbridge Wells, Kent.

Portia, 36, shared online that she’s told her children they’re selling the house. She says it’s been difficult, particularly for her son Roman, who is very upset by the news.

I tried to explain to the children why this was happening, but it’s been incredibly difficult, and I’ve been preparing for it for some time. She and Ore, a presenter for BBC children’s television, got married in 2015 after meeting while studying at Loughborough University.

She’s currently looking for a job. It all happened so quickly – one moment she was doing housework, and the next she was interviewing for a position. She admits she doesn’t like change and finds it stressful not knowing what the future holds, whether it’s about her home or her career. She feels like she’s at a turning point in her life.

Portia revealed last year that she used alcohol to deal with a challenging time in her life. More recently, in the fall, she expressed feeling overwhelmed and admitted she’d reached her limit.

Ore has been working on personal growth recently. He shared a photo of himself showing support for the LGBTQ+ community, and has also openly discussed his struggles with pornography addiction.
