Strictly’s Nikita Kuzmin leaves viewers in hysterics as he makes HUGE blunder during results show – before sharing his hilarious response
As I pore over these images of Toyah and Neil’s journey on Strictly Come Dancing, my heart swells with empathy for their exit from the competition. Having spent two months immersed in this whirlwind of sequins, salsa, and sentiments, it’s clear that they’ve experienced a rollercoaster of emotions.
During last Sunday’s Strictly Come Dancing result show, I found myself in a state of hilarity when, in my conversation with the gracious Claudia Winkleman, I committed an unexpected oversight, leaving viewers in fits of laughter.
As I advanced into week four of the BBC competition alongside my celebrity partner Sam Quek, I was inquisitive about our upcoming dance number. However, during an interview, I unintentionally provided a humorous blunder.
He said: ‘I can give you more than a taste. Well first of all we are dancing the Samba,’ before breaking out into Shakira’s hit 2001 song, Whenever, Wherever’.
Nikita leaped from his chair and belted out, “Le-do-lo-le-lo-le, Le-do-lo-le-lo-le, Our time is meant to intertwine, Wherever we may be, I’ll always show up, And you’ll never be far,” causing the other dancers to follow suit and harmonize with their own moves.
Yet, upon resuming his seat, Claudia commented to Nikita: “My dear Nikita, I adore you immensely, but it was another one of Shakira’s songs.
As I stood there, utterly smitten by Nikita, my eyes widened in shock when he found himself at a loss for words upon being asked about the lyrics of “Hips Don’t Lie.” My face turned crimson, and I couldn’t help but feel my heart race as I sat there with my head in my hands, utterly speechless.
At that instant, Sam’s eyebrows arched in surprise as his partner, a momentary laugh escaping him. Meanwhile, Gorka Márquez, Aljaz Škorjanec, Pete Wicks, and Jowita Przystal were all bent over with laughter, finding the blunder utterly amusing.
After the event concluded, Nikita posted an apology on Instagram to Shakira. He wrote, ‘Oh my goodness, I’m sorry @shakira.’
He also revealed: ‘The thing is, I already started choreographing to the song hahahaha’.
Enthusiasts promptly flocked to the post’s comments on Instagram, expressing their view that it was the most hilarious moment in the entire series.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I must say, Nikita, your humor is simply divine! I find myself replaying it again and again, utterly captivated. The laughter you evoke is infectious, and while it’s amusing that you sang the wrong song, it only adds to my admiration for you. Your talent never ceases to amaze me! Absolutely brilliant!
On Sundays, I found myself among the contestants on the show once again. Unfortunately, this time around, I joined Toyah Willcox as the second star to depart from the show following two consecutive weeks of landing at the bottom.
80’s vocalist, aged 66, along with partner Neil Jones, 42, were ousted from the contest during Movie Week, as they lost the dance-off to football legend Paul Merson and his partner Karen Hauer in a close call.
After the judge’s ruling, Toyah enthusiastically praised Neil as ‘outstanding’ and described her time on the program as ‘the most incredible two months I’ve ever lived!’
In a repeat of their previous performances, it was Toyah and Neil who danced the Samba once more on the floor, following a score of 15 out of 40 that placed them at the bottom of last Saturday’s standings. The song they chose for this routine was “Poor Unfortunate Souls” from The Little Mermaid.
Simultaneously, Paul and Karen danced the Cha Cha rhythmically to “The Magnificent Seven” tune from The Magnificent Seven movie, earning them an initial score of 19 points.
Following their dance performances, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, and Anton Du Beke decided to keep Paul and Karen in the competition.
In the voting process, I found myself contributing to a decision where Paul and Karen garnered three affirmative votes. This majority win implied that Toyah and Neil were not maintaining the support needed, thus they would bid farewell.
As an ardent admirer, I’d express it like this: “Just like my beloved fellow pros, I wholeheartedly concur with the Head Judge, Shirley Ballas. If given the chance, I too would have chosen to spare Paul and Karen from elimination.
