Strictly’s Giovanni Pernice reveals major career change after admitting he thought Amanda Abbington bullying row would be ‘the end of his career’

Giovanni Pernice from “Strictly Come Dancing” has shared details about his future work endeavors, following a period he described as difficult and potentially threatening to his dancing career.

Last year, a 34-year-old accomplished dancer had to depart from the popular BBC dance program due to an investigation into his conduct. This followed allegations of mistreatment made against him by his previous celebrity partner, Amanda Abbington.

In September, the BBC investigation found that ten out of sixteen accusations against Giovanni were unfounded, yet he has chosen not to appear in the latest installment of the show.

According to the BBC’s report, he was found not guilty of the gravest charges related to physical violence, but it did find evidence supporting claims of verbal abuse and inappropriate behavior.

In a recent chat with The Mirror, he expressed excitement about a significant shift in his professional life and hinted at stepping off the dance floor, possibly embracing ballroom dancing.

He shared with the press that he aims to build a profession in acting, and he’s open to singing as well. However, he mentioned there’s one significant hurdle preventing him from achieving his goals.

He explained that because English isn’t his first language he would have to go back to school.

The star replied: “That’s an action I’ve longed to perform, yet it must be noted that English isn’t my native tongue, so let’s consider the possibilities.

‘I need to go to English school first of all to learn English properly.

‘And I like to sing too, so maybe some singing lesson to improve my singing.’

After disclosing that he went through difficult periods, commonly referred to as “tough times,” following the explosive allegations of bullying against him, Giovanni made his remarks.

In all honesty, I’ve experienced some tough times where it felt like the end of the road for my career. One of those low points was when I thought, “Is this it? Is this the finish line?” But as we all know, life has a way of surprising us when we least expect it.

‘Sorry for my language but 2024 can f**k off. I’ve been looking forward to seeing the back of it.’

Regarding Amanda’s shocking statements, he went on to say: “Each time she made another revelation, I managed to keep my composure internally. Let me tell you, it was far from simple; there were periods of great difficulty.

The star signaled his eagerness for fresh opportunities by joining forces with his Strictly partner, Kai Widdrington, on Channel 4’s Celebrity Hunted, marking a new venture for him.

Apart from his dance moves, the Italian artist expressed his enthusiasm about returning to British television and confessed that he approached the program with great seriousness.

Audience members might find it surprising when they see Giovanni’s strategies unfold on the popular Channel 4 program, especially since he admitted to taking the initiative by going after the hunters instead. An intriguing twist in this tale is that Giovanni personally dropped off a pizza at their doorstep!

The reality show is just one more major television project added to the star’s growing list, with a nationwide tour planned as well.

Giovanni expressed that he felt a mix of excitement and sadness about embarking on a journey with the Strictly show, since it marked the end for him and he yearned for a respite. However, he also shared that he was eager to reunite with his fans and rekindle those connections.

And the star will surely be needing a break after his impressive time on Celebrity Hunted.
