Strictly’s Dianne Buswell reveals all on engagement ring blunder after leaving fans certain she and partner Joe Sugg were planning on getting married
Dianne Buswell clarified the misunderstanding on social media that led people to believe she was getting married to Joe Sugg.
In 2018, while participating as partners during the sixteenth season of Strictly Come Dancing, a 36-year-old dancer and a 33-year-old YouTuber developed a romantic relationship.
After seven years have passed, the couple continues to be together, residing in a lavish £3.5million mansion in Brighton, and they are discussing the idea of having children.
However, Joe hasn’t proposed as of now, contrary to what Strictly viewers assumed earlier this year that he had already done so.
On Good Morning Britain, Susanna Reid questioned the dancer concerning the possible suggestion she made following her trip to Australia.

The person who is 54 years old inquired, “There’s been quite a bit of talk suggesting you may have become engaged recently. I was wondering if it’s true?
Dianne replied, “I was in Australia where it was really warm, and after flying, my fingers tend to swell slightly.
As an ardent fan, let me share a personal tale. I’ve always adorned a pair of rings on my right hand, a habit that persists to this day. However, recently, due to some unexpected swelling in my fingers, I found myself forced to remove these beloved trinkets. Little did I know, my left hand was the appropriate place for one of them – the very hand where an engagement ring traditionally resides! Quite the revelation, wasn’t it?
I took some family photos and shared them on the internet, leading people to think that I was engaged. However, I want to clarify that I am not actually engaged.
Co-host Ed Balls playfully quipped, “What are you up to, Joseph? And honestly, what about him?” Dianne giggled at his jest.
Although Joe doesn’t currently wear an engagement ring, he and Dianne have openly discussed their intentions to begin a family together.
Recently, as I lent my support to the enchanting children’s series, Bluey, I couldn’t help but share a glimpse into my future – a future that may include a tiny bundle of joy!
In an interview with The Mirror, the 36-year-old shared, “I’ve always taken care of all my younger cousins. I’ve had a deep affection for kids since forever, and they continue to intrigue me greatly.

Regarding her upcoming Bluey Dance Alongs, she mentioned: “I believe that one day, should I ever have children of my own, they might possibly enjoy watching this.
‘It plays at the back of my mind and that’s pretty cool.’
Yet, Dianne had openly acknowledged that balancing child-rearing with her bustling entertainment career was sometimes difficult.
Last year’s trophy-winning star admitted that spending Christmas with her nieces and nephews had sparked a strong desire to have a baby.
She told The Sun: ‘I would like to have children, 100 per cent.
Joe and I share a deep affection for children, and we’re both keen on expanding this aspect of our lives. As for the number, I haven’t given it much thought yet. However, I’m confident that having kids is something we’re destined for.

Currently, Dianne is getting ready to embark on a 30-date tour across the UK alongside her dance partner from Strictly, Vito Coppola. Simultaneously, she’s also working on promoting a fresh podcast with her 2023 collaborator Chris McCausland.
She said: ‘My job is quite demanding and I love it so much.
This situation calls for careful consideration and reflection. It might require some deep thinking, but rest assured, we’ll find our way through eventually. There are many things going on currently, but progress will be made when it should.
Initially, Joe gained popularity through his YouTube channel called ‘ThatcherJoe’. Later on, he created two additional channels: ‘ThatcherJoeVlogs’ and ‘ThatcherJoeGames’.
In December, Joe expressed a heartfelt and enthusiastic post to honor his girlfriend Dianne and her dance partner Chris McCausland upon winning the BBC program.
2024 saw the duo being declared champions, with the comedian making headlines as the first and only visually impaired competitor, and ultimately, the champion, on that particular show.
In an exceptional finale, Chris outshone contestants Tasha Ghouri, JB Gill, and Sarah Hadland, largely due to his charming humor and captivating backstory that rejuvenated the show amidst recent controversies.
Joe proudly shared a gallery of pictures praising the dancer for her hard work and ‘determination’.
