Strictly’s Chris McCausland ‘leaves BBC bosses with a big headache’ – as he remains the bookies’ favourite to win the show
As a long-time fan of Strictly Come Dancing, I must say that this week’s performance by Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell left me absolutely spellbound. Being a stand-up comedian myself, I can appreciate the unique blend of humor and heart that Chris brings to the dancefloor.
Chris McCausland, known for his appearances on Strictly Come Dancing, is said to have given BBC executives quite a dilemma – since he continues to be the top bet among bookmakers to emerge victorious in the competition.
The comedian, aged 47, who is visually impaired, receives immense love from his fans during the program he co-stars with professional dancer Dianne Buswell.
At present, odds suggest he’s the front-runner to claim victory in the series at approximately 2.25:1. However, should he emerge victorious, it might pose an issue for the show, as according to The Mirror, he can’t participate in the Strictly Come Dancing live tour due to unavailability.
According to the report, his comedy series titled “Yonks,” scheduled for performances in January and February, conflicts head-on with the live stage presentation of Strictly during that same period.
If he were to emerge victorious, it’s likely that fans would anticipate his participation in the tour, a event that consistently features the leading players from each series.
According to one report, Craig claims that all the current favorites will attend, but this isn’t accurate. After all, Chris can’t be present in two locations simultaneously.
Currently, since all shows on Chris’s comedy tour scheduled from January 17 conflict, he is unable to perform the task at hand.
Presently, Chris is considered the top pick by Tasha Ghouri from Love Island, with Tasha having odds of 4 to 1. Following closely behind are Sarah Hadland, who plays Miranda, with odds of 10 to 1, and Jamie Borthwick from EastEnders, with odds of 16 to 1.
A representative from Ladbrokes commented: “Chris McCausland appears to be dominating the contest this year, as he’s significantly increased his odds-on position in the Strictly Come Dancing betting.
‘Tasha is his main rival as things stand, but punters only see one winner.’
The inaugural tour for Strictly (dancing show) kicked off in January 2009, featuring Tom Chambers – the winner from the previous year, 2008. Since then, every subsequent winner has participated.
In a statement last month confirming the return of the Strictly live event for 2025, hosted once again by It Takes Two’s Janette Manrara, judge Craig Revel Horwood declared: ‘Strictly fans are in for a huge treat on the live tour – it’s going to be bigger and better than ever before.
Viewers will get a chance to experience the grandeur and star-studded appeal of the TV program, with their beloved celebrities and dancers right in front of them. Plus, Motsi making her debut this time around promises an even more sensational event!
The BBC and Chris have been contacted by TopMob for comment.
According to a representative from the tour, decisions regarding casting for the Strictly Live Tour 2025 are yet to be made.
Following the emotional response from fans, Chris and Dianne’s seemingly flawless dance performance during Saturday’s broadcast left viewers in tears.
Chris, along with the 35-year-old Australian professional dancer, left spectators amazed when they danced a waltz in honor of Liverpool.
Dianne was stunning in a shimmering navy dress, whereas Chris sported a coordinated suit with a red shirt, looking sharp.
As a devoted admirer, I couldn’t help but feel moved to tears by the deeply emotional performance. In an outpouring of appreciation, I joined countless others in flooding X (previously known as Twitter) with heartfelt comments, urgently imploring for Chris to be granted the Glitterball Trophy.
Chris asks, “Did I do alright?” Dianne replies, “Absolutely! You did exceptionally well!” (#Strictly)
