Strictly’s Chris McCausland is seen for the first time since getting through to the quarter final as he enjoys casual stroll with his wife – after breaking his silence over Samba-thon drama
As a visually impaired individual who has navigated through the world with humor and resilience, I must say that watching Chris McCausland tackle the Sambathon on Strictly Come Dancing was nothing short of inspiring. The sheer determination and grace he displayed during the dance were a testament to his spirit and an example for all of us.
comedian Chris McCausland, who advanced to the quarterfinals on Strictly Come Dancing, was spotted recently for the first time after that achievement.
As a devoted companion, I, a humorist navigating life without sight, took a leisurely stroll with my beloved wife Patricia through the charming streets of West London earlier today. We then made our way to a cozy coffee shop, sharing our moments over a warm cup.
Chris, casual in a black zip-up sweater and white sporty cap, was gently accompanied by Patricia, with their arms connected affectionately.
Patricia echoed her husband’s relaxed attire, donning a brown sweater and loose-fitting jeans.
The star appeared cheerful, taking advantage of a break from practicing dances with partner Diane Buswell.
At a certain moment, Chris could be spotted standing by himself outside the coffee shop, engrossed in his mobile phone, while it appeared that Patricia went inside to grab the drinks they had ordered.
Chris and Dianne’s success on Saturday means they make it through to the quarter final.
In simpler terms, Jamie Borthwick and Michelle Tsiakkas were the last couple to leave the competition as they had a dance-off with Montell Douglas and Johannes Radebe, but unfortunately, they were eliminated.
Chris’ excursion follows his decision to speak up, as angry Strictly fans criticized the Samba-thon as being discriminatory, unfair, and inappropriate.
On Saturday evening, the comedian stepped onto the dance floor for a thrilling Samba competition, where seven pairs danced simultaneously, creating a dramatic spectacle.
Viewers believed that Chris faced a significant handicap as he lacks spatial awareness on the dance floor, even though the judges consistently urged the celebrities to move about.
In a simplified manner, Chris along with his dance partner, Dianne, were the initial pair to exit the ballroom.
Initially stepping off the dance floor resulted in Chris and Dianne receiving just a single point, positioning them near the bottom on the judges’ leaderboard.
However, during a subsequent solo act within the same program, they performed an intense Pasodoble dance, which garnered them a total of 32 points.
As an ardent fan, I can’t help but express my astonishment over this year’s revival of the Sambathon. It seems quite incongruous to me that they would proceed with this event when Chris, due to his visual impairment and spatial unawareness, is likely to be the first eliminated. To me, it appears poor taste to set him up for an early exit in such a manner.
I regret to say that the dance competition, or “sambathon,” seemed unfair towards Chris. He was visually impaired, making it difficult for him to locate the others and execute many of the dance moves the other couples were performing because he was tethered to Dianne. It was clearly a disadvantage for him.
If it were an event held annually, that would be understandable… but they decided to revive it!! This wasn’t a spur-of-the-moment decision; it was thoroughly discussed, selected, and implemented! And get this – one of the most recognized contestants will participate blindfolded!!! Incredible!!!
‘I believed Chris would be the first one out, but it was unjust. His enthusiastic reaction to a single point struck me as a subtle expression of disdain.’
As Chris saw it, the situation was more of a light-hearted matter. It seemed unimportant to him, and he remained unfazed. Regardless, he’s expected to make it, while others are competing fiercely for the remaining spots.
Following criticism from viewers who deemed the “samba-thon” biased against Chris, he expressed his thoughts about his performance on Instagram.
He wrote: ‘I was really proud of our dance on Saturday, and as for the Sambathon….[zipped-mouth emoji] ….Well thank you so much for all of your votes.
“I must say, your assistance was invaluable in getting through those tough Latin classes – we wouldn’t have made it without you! Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow, Dianne Buswell 💕. By the way, I’ll be sure to bring some earplugs along.
