Strictly’s Amber Davies ‘is treating every week on the show as her last’ as backlash intensifies against her experience amid dance-off shock

Amber Davies from Strictly Come Dancing is said to be approaching each week of the competition as if it could be her last, due to growing criticism about her previous dance training.

Okay, so I was really surprised to see that a Love Island winner and West End performer – she’s only 29! – ended up in the dance-off this weekend. It was a close call, and she almost got eliminated! It just goes to show, even talented people face challenges, right?

Some people have criticized Amber for her extensive dance background in West End shows before joining the BBC dance competition. Despite consistently receiving high scores from the judges, viewers didn’t vote to keep her on the show.

And now The Sun reports that pals fear she could be soon sent home due to the criticism.

Some people argue that her being in the bottom two contestants shows her upbringing didn’t actually help her in the competition.

According to a source, Amber was very upset but views this as an opportunity to begin anew and is trying to make the most of it.

Despite not being able to alter how people perceive her past, she’s truly embracing this experience. She’s determined to savor every moment and live each week as if it were her last.

Honestly, everyone keeps going on about how her dance background was supposed to make her a shoo-in, give her some edge… but it hasn’t mattered at all here. It’s just… shocking, really. It proves absolutely anyone can be eliminated, no matter how talented they seem. It’s terrifying, but also… exciting? It means anything can happen!

A representative for Amber has been contacted by Daily Mail for comment.

Amber admitted she felt awful after the difficult dance-off that resulted in Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink being eliminated on Sunday.

Despite earning some of the week’s highest scores, Amber and the 53-year-old ex-Chelsea player ended up in the bottom two.

Amber and Nikita Kuzmin received a score of 33 for their Cha Cha, dancing to Ariana Grande’s “Break Free.” Jimmy and Lauren Oakley earned 30 points for their American Smooth, performed to Prince’s “Purple Rain.”

Despite a rocky performance, judges Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Shirley Ballas, and Anton Du Beke all agreed to let Amber continue on the show.

She shared on Instagram that she felt terrible, showing a photo of her and Nikita from their time on Strictly.

I was completely captivated by this clip! She was so funny, playfully explaining how awful she felt. The voice-over said she woke up feeling ‘absolute garbage,’ and then she cheekily added that ‘garbage’ is actually the French word for trash – it was brilliant!

She shared a heartfelt message alongside her post, describing a difficult night in the dance-off. She was particularly upset to be competing against two people she’d grown close to during the experience: Jimmy Hasselbaink and Lauren Oakley.

I’m so grateful to be celebrating Halloween week on Strictly, but we’ll be dearly missing two wonderful people.

Oh my gosh, if you guys voted for us, seriously, thank you so, so much! This week feels like it could be our big comeback, and honestly, I’m a nervous wreck! It means the world that you’re all holding on tight with me, especially when I’m this shaky. I just… I can’t even express how grateful I am!

Amber strongly spoke out to justify her continued participation in the show after facing criticism for her background in professional dance.

She shared with the Daily Mail that she’s worked incredibly hard to establish herself in the competitive world of musical theatre, having performed in popular shows like 9 to 5, Back to the Future, and Legally Blonde.

Amber’s journey to becoming a stage star was challenging. She had to work incredibly hard to gain recognition in a very competitive industry, and her success was built on years of dedication and sacrifice by her parents, who came from a working-class background.

In 2017, Amber was the winner of the popular reality show Love Island. That year, the show became a national sensation and instantly made its contestants famous.

She’s now aiming to impress viewers on Strictly Come Dancing, stepping in as a late replacement for Dani Dyer, who had to leave the show after breaking her ankle.

In a recent interview, Amber explained that she often faces the same criticism repeatedly. She feels that no matter how she expresses her difficulties, people readily offer opinions, likely because of her career in musical theatre.

I’ve worked incredibly hard to gain respect in the musical theatre industry, and it feels like all my effort is finally starting to pay off.

The musical theatre community is surprisingly close-knit. If you’re dedicated, reliable, and a supportive colleague, you can establish a strong reputation relatively fast.

Growing up with so much public attention, my self-worth comes more from within than from what others think of me.

Growing up in a working-class family, my parents worked incredibly hard to give my sister and me opportunities like singing and acting lessons. That work ethic is a core part of who I am, and I’m driven to always give my best effort. Ultimately, what matters most to me is knowing I’m reaching my full potential.
