Strictly’s Aljaz Skorjanec reveals the secret to avoiding the show’s infamous curse after returning to the dance competition with Love Island beauty Tasha Ghouri
As an ardent fan of Strictly Come Dancing, I can’t help but feel like I’ve been on this dancefloor with Aljaz Skorjanec for a decade now! His wisdom and experiences are as captivating as his moves. The way he emphasizes the importance of family unity during the intense competition is truly inspiring.
Professional dancer Aljaz Skorjanec from Strictly Come Dancing shares tips on how to sidestep the well-known BBC show’s “curse.
For approximately two decades, the show Strictly has ignited numerous romantic connections between famous celebrities and their dance partners off-camera. Some of these relationships have been so strong that they’ve led certain individuals to end their existing marital commitments.
However, Aljaz, currently marking his tenth series, proposes a straightforward method for balancing one’s personal life amidst the demanding competition.
He shared that it’s most effective to involve the entire family when participating in Strictly, especially if they are in a relationship, since there’s considerable time spent in rehearsals, as he expressed during his appearance on Loose Women on Tuesday.
For seven years now, I’ve been joyously married to the enchanting Janette Manrara, who was once a dancer on Strictly Come Dancing and now graces our screens as the presenter of It Takes Two. Meanwhile, my partner in this season’s Strictly, Tasha Ghouri, is blissfully smitten with her Love Island beau, Andrew Page. I must admit, I’m quite smitten with him too!
The dancer made it clear, ‘Being part of things is beneficial.’ So, we ended up going out together as a quartet. Yet, deep down, I secretly yearn for a one-on-one date with Andrew.
Tasha excitedly shared about her boyfriend Andrew, “Andrew is thrilled that Aljaz is dear to him too. He’s incredibly pleased and joyful since I no longer discuss my desire to participate in Strictly daily. He’s immensely proud and enjoys watching it.
Aljaz returned to the Strictly dancefloor this year after a two year absence, during which he spent time with his and Janette’s daughter Lyra, 14 months.
He confessed on Loose Women, “It seems almost unreal, two years from now.” Previously, if someone had asked me where I’d be a year later while sitting on that couch, I wouldn’t have believed it. But then I received the call.
Spending a full year at home with my little one has been the most fulfilling experience of my life, but hearing her call me ‘Daddy’ as she points to the television is what truly makes it priceless.
Tasha, who’s faced criticism for supposedly having an upper hand because of her dance background, seems to be growing less troubled by external criticisms as she moves forward in the competition.
‘I’m approaching this freshly by emphasizing the positive aspects. This dance style is unlike anything I’ve danced before, which means I need to simplify it and learn the counting, something I’m not accustomed to. It requires quite a bit of mental effort as each week brings new dance moves and counts.’
Tasha, who was born deaf and wears a cochlear implant, relies on counting to help learn the steps.
She explained to the Loose Women what exactly she can hear through her implant: ‘Imagine very loud bass in the music, is what I hear. More instruments is better,’ she said.
Listening to a soft piano tune makes it challenging to count, making the task even more difficult. To gather myself, I take a moment to close my eyes, breathe deeply, and calm down. The ‘Barbie’ routine had me so anxious that I couldn’t stop trembling.
Here’s a suggestion for paraphrasing in a natural and easy-to-read manner: “I strive to keep stress from overwhelming me; just like Tash, you have this under control. However, when you’re on the floor with cameras rolling, judges present, it can be tough to manage those jittery feelings.
During the third episode on the weekend, Tasha and Aljaz finished first on the leaderboard, earning a remarkable 34 points for their captivating Rumba performance themed around Barbie.
In the competition, there were three contenders vying for the second position. These included Sarah Hadland and Vito Coppola as well as a group consisting of Shayne Ward, Nancy Xu, Punam Krishan, and Gorka Márquez. Each of them had scored 32 points.
