Colleagues of Wynne Evans on Strictly Come Dancing have expressed their backing for him following his apology, after he made an offensive sexual comment regarding co-host Janette Manrara.
On his birthday, the 53-year-old singer received greetings from some members of the show’s cast while he celebrated the special day during the tour for Strictly.
On Sunday, Wynne made a comeback to the Strictly stage following an enforced absence from last Friday’s performance due to an injury. During his appearance at Glasgow’s Hydro Arena, he shared with the audience that he wasn’t having a great day.
Demonstrating her backing for Wynne, his dancing partner Katya Jones reshared a video of their performance on Instagram.
Jowita Przystał likewise paid tribute on his birthday to the famous star from Go Compare, by sharing a video clip of the show’s performers singing Stevie Wonder’s classic hit in his honor.
During a photoshoot for the launch of the Strictly live tour, Wynne was caught on tape proposing an unrefined and inappropriate threesome involving It Takes Two presenter Janette Manrara, employing the disrespectful term “spit roast.

The video additionally captured Manrara’s spouse, professional dancer Aljaz Skorjanec, during filming.
Or, more casually:
The video included Manrara’s husband, Strictly dance pro Aljaz Skorjanec, in the shooting.
Following the unveiling of the video by The Mail on Sunday, Evans withdrew from his scheduled performance for Saturday evening in Glasgow, claiming an ankle ailment, and received a call from the managers of the Strictly tour.
A source reported: ‘Wynne received a stern reprimand for his inappropriate speech, being clearly informed that such behavior will not be accepted and this serves as his last warning. It was an unequivocal rebuke.’
‘Wynne also gave a grovelling apology to Janette and her furious husband, Aljaz.’
Representatives from BBC Studios and the organizers behind the Strictly tour recently stated that they had not been made aware of the comment prior to it happening, nor had they received any complaints about it.
‘We have made it very clear to Wynne that we do not tolerate such behaviour on the tour.’
Yesterday, Wynne made a comeback to the Strictly tour’s stage at the Glasgow Hydro, where both matinee and night performances took place. These events were overseen by Ms Manrara, and they featured dancing performances from Wynne’s professional partner on Strictly, Aljaz Skorjanec.
Women’s rights advocates disapproved and spoke out against the decision to bring back the famous figure for the tour, as they expressed their dissatisfaction with the BBC after a series of scandals involving sexual misconduct allegations against Masterchef judge Gregg Wallace.

Dr. Charlotte Proudman, the creator of the Right to Equality, stated to the Mail: “Bringing Wynne Evans back to work alongside the woman he made inappropriate remarks about implies that sexually charged comments towards women result in no genuine repercussions. This can make women feel vulnerable and unprotected.
Making this choice could lead to the affected individual, as well as other female colleagues, having to work alongside someone who publicly disparaged them, thereby undermining the trust they have in their professional environment.
The BBC must provide some clear explanations regarding the alleged issue. It appears that within the BBC, there might exist a harmful environment where women are subjected to disrespectful and degrading behavior instead of being nurtured and protected.
‘True accountability means prioritising equality, safety, and consequences for misconduct.’
Following the revelation of his remark, Evans admitted, “What I said was out of line and not acceptable; I deeply regret it and offer my heartfelt apologies.
Last year, Evans danced on Strictly alongside Katya Jones. Some viewers noticed him attempting to place his hand on her waist, but it seemed like he intentionally restrained himself from doing so.
Later on, I attempted to share a friendly high-five with my companion, only to receive a sharp, disapproving glance, a subtle eye roll, and a dismissive turn of the back.
Following the comments from viewers, Evans and Jones explained that their actions were simply meant as a playful prank, referring to an amusing private joke among them.
