Strictly star rushed to hospital after suffering with painful ‘rashes and shooting pains’ amid tropical disease fears

A celebrity from the show “Strictly Come Dancing” was quickly taken to a hospital due to experiencing bothersome itches and sharp discomfort.
24-year-old Saffron Barker, who appeared on the dance show in its 17th season back in 2019, shared some health news with fans on Thursday. She had been experiencing uncomfortable symptoms that doctors initially suspected might be a ‘tropical disease‘ contracted through mosquito bites.
On Instagram, the influencer, fresh from a vacation in The Maldives, posted a picture of herself relaxing in bed while expressing that she was feeling more like herself after battling an illness.
On top of the picture, she wrote: “I’m incredibly grateful for all your kind messages. After a week, I’m starting to feel more like myself again.
‘The doctors thought I’d caught a tropical disease from a mosquito when I was away.’
In her description, Saffron mentioned that she was experiencing various symptoms such as a widespread rash on her skin, a persistent headache, general body discomfort, sharp pains throughout her body, elevated temperature, and soreness in her throat and ears.
In another video, the YouTuber posted a photo showing her arm connected to a cannula. Saffron clarified that it wasn’t a case of a tropical illness, but rather she had been dealing with a decreased number of white blood cells.
She said: ‘After getting my bloods taken turns out I didn’t have that but my white blood cells were half the number they should be so very low and therefore my whole body was trying to fight the infection.’
The blonde beauty the uploaded a video showing the rashes on her arms, adding: ‘This is what the rashes looked like all over my body.’
In a final update, Saffron posted another image of her arm while in the bath, with the star seemingly on the mend.
She shared: ‘Today is the first day I have woken up and they are settling so feeling grateful.’
Previous month, Saffron took a trip to The Maldives together with a friend, capturing their journey through the South Asian nation on camera with that same companion.

The influencer shared a video on both Instagram and TikTok showing her being escorted back to her hotel by the ski patrollers.
She insisted a ‘story time is needed’ to explain how and what happened before the accident struck.
