Strictly star Amy Dowden to make triumphant comeback for the show’s live tour as she reunites with partner JB Gill after being forced to bow out competition
As a dedicated Strictly Come Dancing fan who has witnessed the highs and lows of this spectacular show, I am absolutely thrilled to see Amy Dowden making a triumphant return for the live tour alongside her partner JB Gill. After bravely battling breast cancer and being forced to bow out of this year’s competition due to an unfortunate injury, it is heartwarming to see her back on the dance floor.
Amy Dowden, a renowned dancer on Strictly Come Dancing, is set to return triumphantly for the live tour, joining forces once more with her partner JB Gill. Unfortunately, health issues required her withdrawal from this year’s competition.
34-year-old dance prodigy was deeply saddened when she sustained a stress fracture on her shin, preventing her from participating in the series. Eventually, former JLS singer, JB, aged 38, made it to the finals instead.
This year marked Amy’s comeback to Strictly after undergoing a mastectomy due to her breast cancer diagnosis. Therefore, her withdrawal from the show because of an injury added an extra layer of distress.
However, it has been unveiled that the Welsh celebrity will team up with JB for the Strictly Come Dancing Live Tour. Notably, JB came in second place during this weekend’s finale, while Chris McCausland, a comedian who is blind, claimed the glitterball trophy as the winner.
Dance performer Lauren Oakley, aged 33, will join the tour and compete alongside JB, stepping in for Amy who was unwell during this season.
One group among the seven duos is scheduled to journey across the nation during the New Year, kicking off a 30-date tour on January 17 that concludes on February 9.
Amy and JB will be accompanied on the Strictly tour by actors Jamie Borthwick from EastEnders and Michelle Tsiakkas, former Gladiator Montell Douglas and Kai Widdrington, opera singer Wynne Evans and his partner Katya Jones, actor Shayne Ward along with Nancy XU.
After the final show on Saturday, Tasha Ghouri, Aljaz Skorjanec, Sarah Hadland, and Vito Coppola have been added to the roster of Strictly celebrities. Notably, Chris made history as the first visually impaired contestant to win the series.
On a Monday morning, he made an appearance on Lorraine’s show, taking time to ponder over his victory in Strictly, confessing that he was still experiencing strong emotions and exhaustion due to the rigorous training for several months.
Chris stated, “I merely intended to participate and advocate for others… I figured if I managed to reach the fifth performance, that would be considered successful since it exceeds expectations and catches people off guard. However, this is absolutely incredible!
He informed substitute host Ranvir Singh that he won’t be participating in the Strictly tour since he didn’t anticipate lasting this long in the competition, not to mention winning.
I can’t contain my excitement! Instead of gracing the BBC dance series, he’s decided to embark on a personal comedy tour titled “Yonks”! Originally, he postponed it, but now, I’m overjoyed that this fantastic event is happening!
Chris mentioned that he began the tour in January of this year, continued until May, and was supposed to resume in September. However, the dates were adjusted to make room for Strictly.
At that moment, it wasn’t something we were seriously contemplating because I believe everyone underestimated my potential skill in that area.
Professional dancer Dianne Buswell, who guided Chris to triumph, is also slated to dance on the tour along with Karen Hauer, Neil Jones, Nikita Kuzmin, and Jowita Przystal. All of these individuals will be performing as well.
Strictly’s judging panel this season includes Shirley Ballas, Anton Du Beke, Craig Revel Horwood, as well as newcomer Motsi Mabuse.
Janette Manrara, host of It Takes Two, guides the tour, assuring viewers across the nation that they’re in store for a genuine delight.
I eagerly expressed: “I’m thrilled to be reunited with all the experts once more, and it’s an added delight to announce the return of the charming Amy Dowden.
Last week, it was unveiled that semi-finalist Pete Wicks declined an invitation to participate in the Strictly tour because of prior work obligations, expressing regret for not being able to attend.
In 2025, the tour kicks off at Birmingham’s Utilita Arena and wraps up at London’s O2 in February. Along the way, the stellar lineup will be gracing stages in other cities such as Newcastle, Liverpool, and Sheffield.
