Recently, an individual from the team who had been associated with the show for a span of about ten years up until 2023, has decided to speak out about the alleged rowdy gatherings backstage at Strictly, stating that these events were fueled by excessive alcohol and drug use.
He shared with The Sun: “The primary celebration occurs at Elstree following the completion of the live show broadcast. Drinking and drug use persist until 3 a.m., occasionally lasting till 4 a.m. The smoking zone outside is bustling. Illicit substances, such as cocaine, are often consumed there.
He asserted that drug usage was prevalent on the program to such an extent, that upon discovering a questionable pile of white powder, a nonchalant senior producer instructed him to simply “put it on my desk.” The occurrence didn’t seem to elicit even a raised eyebrow from anyone.
The employee added that the yearly special performance held at the Blackpool Tower Ballroom was particularly described as a lively, extravagant evening filled with merriment and high spirits.
At an after-show party, I was given an offer for cocaine by a celebrity. Many people then headed back to the hotel. It was an exclusive event, only for the cast and crew. The party continued until 5 am, sometimes even extending to 6 am, it was quite wild. Everyone seemed energized, and it showed in their eyes.
