Strictly fans left ‘absolutely gutted’ by Jamie Borthwick’s shock elimination and ask how Pete Wicks has ‘escaped the dance off yet again’ as they brand the show a joke
As a long-time fan of Strictly Come Dancing, I must say that this week’s elimination left me feeling rather crestfallen. Jamie and Michelle’s dance performances were always a highlight for me, and their comedic VTs added an extra dose of joy to an already entertaining show.
Audience members expressed their anger when Jamie Borthwick and his partner Michelle Tsiakkas were eliminated as the ninth pair in the contest on Sunday evening’s results program.
30-year-old actor from EastEnders, who was competing on the show for the very first time, faced off with Montell Douglas and Johannes Radebe and unfortunately got eliminated following the dance-off.
However, fans were taken aback when they saw the two performers ending up in the bottom two, with a number of them arguing that it was actually Pete Wicks who should have been there instead.
On Sunday’s performance, I couldn’t help but notice the recurring low scores given by the judges to my beloved actor. It seemed they were consistently underestimating his talent!
On Saturday, the soap actor set fans buzzing when they danced a Foxtrot with professional partner Michelle Tsiakkas to Ben E King’s timeless hit, “Stand By Me.
As a die-hard fan, I couldn’t help but be ecstatic when the soap star’s dance routine stole the show. Yet, once more, I found myself disheartened as the judges delivered their scathing critique – inciting whispers among us about alleged favoritism within the panel.
Amidst the uproar from fans, Jamie and I were thrust into yet another dance-off, compelled to showcase our moves again. Meanwhile, Montell and his partner dazzled everyone with their Quickstep performance.
Following careful consideration, the judges, including Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke, and Shirley Ballas, collectively decided to save the Gladiator star, as she ended up in the danger zone for the third time.
In conversation with Tess Daly about his experience on the program, Jamie expressed: “Strictly Come Dancing is truly magical. That’s all I can say. There’s something extraordinary about Strictly Come Dancing. It’s not just the judges you see on camera like these four here, but everyone behind the scenes who contributes to making this show a success.
As a lifestyle expert, I can’t help but express my admiration for my fellow participants in this journey. However, let me shift the focus to my extraordinary partner Michelle. She’s a new pro, and I must say, she has been an exceptional teacher. Our bond has been strengthened by shared laughter that echoes far beyond belief.
In the meantime, Michelle, a newcomer to the program this season, remarked, “Let me just say, Jamie is an exceptional dancer, and he’s been improving week after week. His dedication shows in his progress; he’s truly worked hard to reach where he is now.
This is my inaugural year partnering up in this activity, and I’ve come to understand that it encompasses far more than simply the dancing and mastery of technique. It’s about forming connections and friendships, which adds a whole new layer of value. After waiting patiently for two years to find a partner, I can confidently say that I wouldn’t have preferred any other scenario.
Despite Jamie showing gracefulness in accepting his loss, viewers of the program found themselves frustrated by the choice to eliminate Jamie early and expressed their disappointment, stating they were genuinely upset that the actor was dismissed from the competition ahead of the quarterfinals.
Audience members expressed their annoyance by turning to X, and several suggested that Pete Wicks should have been eliminated instead.
Let me express my astonishment: “I can’t believe it – how on earth did Pete manage to dodge the dance-off when Montele and Jamie clearly deserved a spot? It seems unfair that their talents were overshadowed in such a manner.
While another said: ‘Absolutley gutted Jamie went home. Shouldn’t have been in the bottom 2, let alone go!! He had my vote every week. I loved his dancing and his partnership with Michelle. I wanted him in the final Bloody joke #strictly’
And a third complained: ‘Well that’s strictly over for me this year poor Jamie
Others said: ‘I didn’t think that was fair at all. I’m gutted for Jamie #Strictly and ‘Bloody ridiculous, they were always sending Jamie home #strictly #fixed’.
Some viewers turned on the public and criticised Pete fans for constantly voting him through.
Disappointed. There’s simply no justification for Jamie being in the bottom this week; he was nothing short of extraordinary on the dance floor.
It’s truly unfortunate that the British public seems to have overlooked such remarkable talent in this instance, leaving it unacknowledged.
Instead of expressing anger, one person lamented: “It’s really disappointing to see Jamie and Michelle leave. Their dancing skills were impressive, and their video clips were the funniest I’ve ever come across. It’s a significant blow to the show.
And this isn’t the first time Strictly fans have accused the show of being fixed.
Previous weekend, Strictly viewers were taken aback as Pete and his dance partner, Jowita Przystał, somehow managed to avoid being in the bottom two, despite ending up at the very bottom of the scoreboard.
In the dance-off, it was between Wynne Evans, Katya Jones, Montell Douglas, and Johannes Radebe. However, the judges decided to eliminate Wynne from the competition.
