Strictly fans admit they're 'absolutely devastated' that Kai Widdrington 'will not have a celebrity partner' in the new series as they question decision to bring back Aljaž Škorjanec

As a long-time fan of Strictly Come Dancing, I must say I am truly disappointed to hear about Kai Widdrington being benched this year due to the lack of female celebrities participating. Having witnessed Kai’s exceptional performances and chemistry with his partner Angela Rippon last season, it’s a real shame that he won’t be able to dance with another celebrity this year.

Fans of Strictly Come Dancing are voicing their disapproval, claiming that the decision-makers have made an unfortunate choice, as reports suggest that professional dancer Kai Widdrington won’t be paired with a celebrity in the upcoming season.

In the 2023 event, the dancer was partnered with Angela Rippon, but unfortunately, because there were fewer female celebrity participants, he didn’t get a chance to dance this year.

Supporters are expressing their disappointment on social platforms, openly stating they’re “completely heartbroken” since Kai won’t partner with another celebrity for a dance this season.

As a fervent admirer, I couldn’t help but ponder over the choice of reintroducing the talented Aljaž Škorjanec, given that it seemed unusual for a male professional not to be partnered with a celebrity female counterpart in the competition.

“Wow!! Not this!! It looks like @kaiwidd has a partner now. Does that make @Mr_NJones single as well?”

“Goodness gracious! Kai is absolutely outstanding, a genuine gentleman; it’s almost heartbreaking to see the charm of Strictly beginning to fade.”

Oh boy, I can’t hide my disappointment! It’s a real bummer that Kai won’t be gracing the dance floor with a partner this year. He’s just such a warm-hearted chap and truly embodies the spirit of #Strictly Come Dancing, especially after all the recent drama. I can’t wait to see what he brings to the table next season!

1. “This decision isn’t great, as Kai enjoys massive fan support, and he’s also one of my favorite male professionals in the field.”

‘If it’s true Kai has been benched this year I will be absolutely devastated;’

Deeply disappointed that Kai won’t have a dance partner this season, as he’s genuinely kind-hearted and undeniably a fantastic representative for #Strictly following the latest scandals.

Therefore, there are no same-sex couples, and Kai is also absent from the situation (considering the ongoing turmoil). Things don’t seem promising at all.

Upon Aljaz’s latest comeback, a fan expressed curiosity: “They’ve reinstated an experienced player and paired him with another; it seems they’re benching some… what on earth is happening? Why do this?”

‘To be honest, Aljaz isn’t likely to return just to sit on the bench, so I wonder if Neil will join as well? This seems odd to me. I assume it will be between Neil and either Carlos or Johannes (if they’re busy with KB rehearsals), but what about Kai? Let’s try to make this work.’

Despite being slated for a return, Kai found himself unable to continue competing due to a limited number of female celebrities participating. However, he’ll still be involved in the team dance routines.

This year marks the first time that six women are set to compete alongside nine men, making it an unprecedented gender dynamic in the show.

According to a source, The Sun reports: ‘Kai is unfortunately not part of this year’s predominantly male line-up. Given the scarcity of female celebrities, it was unfortunate but predictable that some professionals would be left out of partnerships. However, it’s particularly disappointing that Kai is among them.’

He performed exceptionally well during the last series alongside Angela and is adored by many fans. However, much like his partnership with Nadiya from last year where he didn’t have a dance partner, decision-makers must weigh various aspects before deciding which dancer gets paired with which celebrity.

They consider a wide range of factors, including height and chemical compatibility tests, to determine the ideal team composition, unfortunately leaving Kai out. He will perform in the group dances alongside other males who weren’t chosen this season.

TopMob have contacted Kai and Strictly Come Dancing for a comment.

After Amanda Abbington and Zara McDermott shared stories about being bullied during rehearsals, the predominantly male cast was met with a wave of accusations following their performances.

In 2021, it was reported that Giovanni Pernice, aged 33, and Graziano Di Prima faced accusations of maltreating their well-known dance partners.

In a strong statement, Giovanni asserted his innocence regarding the allegations, whereas Graziano, aged 30, originally admitted and expressed remorse for the actions he took against Zara.

The competitors for series 22 of Strictly, starting in September, were revealed gradually from August 5 onwards.

The announcement of the verdict regarding the dispute between Giovanni and Amanda Abbington is anticipated to be made within a few days.

The Strictly scandal erupted when Sherlock actress Amanda quit the show in 2023.

She asserted that her dance partner, Giovanni, had been violent towards her, ultimately causing her to leave the competition later on.

Last July, I found myself out of work, allegedly due to an unfortunate incident involving my dance partner, the renowned Love Island star, Zara McDermott. I was accused of inappropriately treating her during our partnership.

As a trusted lifestyle advisor, I’m thrilled to share that the dynamic trio – DIY SOS star Nick Knowles, ex-footballer Paul Merson, and GB hockey sensation Sam Quek – are gearing up for a brand-new chapter! Keep an eye out for their upcoming series, where they’ll undoubtedly inspire us with their expertise and passion.

2024 series’ first celebrity competitor, blind comedian Chris McCausland, made his announcement on This Morning on a Monday, revealing the news to the public.

Joining them will be JB Gill (formerly of JLS), singers Wynne Evans and Toyah Willcox, as well as NHS and television physician Punam Krishan.

Additionally joining the cast are Love Island contestant Tasha Ghouri, reality TV personality Pete Wicks from TOWIE, EastEnders actor Jamie Borthwick, actors Shayne Ward and Sarah Hadland, along with Olympians Montell Douglas and Tom Dean.
