As a seasoned Strictly Come Dancing viewer, I must say that this weekend’s episode was quite a rollercoaster! Nick Knowles, our beloved DIY SOS host, gave an outstanding performance despite it not being enough to save him from elimination. His dance partner Luba and he have truly captured the hearts of many viewers with their tumultuous journey on the show.

Nick Knowles became the third star to be eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing after he and Luba Mushtuk lost the dance-off to Shayne Ward and Nancy Xu.

In this repetition, Shayne and Nancy danced their Cha Cha routine once more, this time to the song “Ain’t No Love (Ain’t No Use)” by Sub Sub, featuring Melanie Williams.

Then, Nick and Luba performed their Charleston to Rain on the Roof from the film Paddington 2.

Despite managing to return to the competition after overcoming a shoulder and knee injury, Nick, who is 62 years old, was ultimately eliminated by every judge – Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, and Anton Du Beke.

When Tess enquired about his experience on the show, Nick shared that he was taken aback by just how much he enjoyed it, as well as by two unexpected occurrences.

I found myself expressing: “The first aspect lies in the depth of my weekly devotion, while the second stems from my determination not to disappoint my cherished companion.

‘The only reason I could do this is simply because of Luba’s changes, she’s been amazing.’

Luba commented: “You’re remarkably persistent, and I recall you mentioning that if you gave it your all, you’d find great satisfaction. From what I can see, you’ve surpassed that mark. Thanks a bunch!

Nick revealed that Luba has been nothing short of extraordinary, consistently making each day exceptional.

I’d like to extend my gratitude as well to the behind-the-scenes team, physical therapists, everyone who played a crucial role in helping me get through this past week. Additionally, I owe thanks to my fellow competitors who have been nothing short of amazing and wonderful individuals.

‘There are some amazing dancers up there, and I will love watching the rest of the series.’

Following the announcement that Nick would be dancing once more on stage due to his role, he shared with Tess that this choice felt perfectly suitable for him.

He told the host: ‘Its kind of right.

‘There are some fantastic dancers here and I wasn’t up to scratch for whatever reason.’

Craig Revel-Horwood then gave Craig some advance ahead of his second performance.

He told the DIY SOS star to not care about the dance and throw himself in to it.

He said: ‘ You just need to work on the ideas in a more extreme fashion.

‘Don’t really care about the dance – the Charleston is like that, just throw yourself in to it.’

Nick nodded in agreement, emphasizing that it was a crucial moment, and conveyed to Tess that the situation was either “make it work or pack up.” Furthermore, he expressed his intention to give his all and put forth an exceptional effort.

But despite Nick’s performance it wasn’t enough to save him.

Craig informed Tess that his intention was to rescue Shayne and Nancy, and afterward, he praised the television host, saying, “You truly let go of all restraint while dancing, and it was the most impressive performance I’ve ever seen from you.

Anton Du Beke agreed with Craig’s assessment, informing the reality show host that both pairs had significantly improved during the crucial moment, and it represented one of Nick’s finest performances.

However, Nick’s turbulent journey on the show reached its conclusion, and during his last dance with Luba, the other stars stepped onto the floor to bid their farewells.

The stormy exhibition additionally included an exceptional dance number performed by our extraordinary professional dancers, set to Taylor Swift’s ‘Wildest Dreams’. This captivating performance was skillfully choreographed by Mandy Moore, with Nikita Kuzmin and Karen Hauer taking center stage as the principal performers.

There was also a performance of ‘Everything’s Here’ and ‘Nothing’s Lost’ from Snow Patrol.

Next Saturday, October 19th, I invite you all to join me as the final 12 couples grace the dance floor once more on Strictly Come Dancing. The excitement continues the following day, Sunday, October 20th, where we’ll reveal the results live on BBC One.

Both of this weekend’s episodes are available to watch now via BBC iPlayer.

On the exciting note of sharing some insider scoop, I’ll be gracing the stage alongside Nick and Luba, as we sit down for our first live, exclusive interview with Fleur East and Janette Manrara on ‘Strictly: It Takes Two’. Catch us live on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer at 6:30 PM on Monday, 14 October. Don’t miss it!

On Friday, medical professionals informed Nick that he could dance on the stage the following day, marking a week since an injury had compelled him to withdraw from Movie Week.

After staying quiet for a while, Nick excitedly shared some good news on Instagram – he’ll be returning on Saturday evening! He confessed that he felt the void of his absence last week and has definitely gotten bitten by the dancing bug again.

He began: ‘Hello everyone. Well I watched last week show feeling so sad that I wasn’t there. Of course I loved cheering on everyone else but I really missed it. I missed being part of it.

When I enrolled in Strictly, I didn’t imagine for an instant that I would develop such a passion for dancing as I have now. In fact, I’ve been bitten by the dancing bug, and I couldn’t be happier about returning tomorrow!

Expressing his heartfelt appreciation, he remarked: “I’m deeply thankful to every physio and the medical staff at BBC for helping me stand strong again. Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow evening.

A representative from the BBC shared: “Everyone here is thrilled that Nick Knowles and Luba Mushtuk are taking part in this weekend’s performance. After being given the green light by our medical and physical therapy teams, Nick is now ready to dance again following his injury last week.

Since they had extra time off from their training this week, they’ll be doing the Charleston dance for Movies Week, set to the tune “Rain on the Roof” from the movie Paddington 2.

During an appearance on It Takes Two on Friday, Fleur East announced to her followers that Nick Knowles and Luba would be performing their Charleston routine on Saturday.

On Wednesday, he resumed practice sessions and was gearing up to dance with his professional partner, Luba.

On Sunday, during the Results Show, I was absolutely thrilled to witness an extraordinary dance performance that left me breathless! It was a captivating routine choreographed by none other than Mandy Moore, set to Taylor Swift’s enchanting melody “Wildest Dreams.” The leads for this mesmerizing spectacle were none other than the incredibly talented Nikita Kuzmin and Karen Hauer. What a magical moment it was!

There was also a musical performance of Everything’s Here and Nothing’s Lost from Snow Patrol.

On Monday, October 14th at 6:30 PM, both Nick and Luba will appear alongside Fleur East and Janette Manrara for their first live, exclusive interview on Strictly: It Takes Two, which can be watched on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer.
