Strictly Come Dancing’s Nancy Xu and Carlos Gu have ‘no way of coming back’ following the pair’s fallout

Reports suggest that the friendship between Strictly Come Dancing professionals Nancy Xu and Carlos Gu is over and unlikely to be repaired.

Carlos and Nancy, who have been friends since they were kids, apparently had a falling out last year. People who were there said they wouldn’t even talk to each other behind the scenes.

Fans noticed a clear indication that Nancy and Carlos were still fighting when Nancy remained expressionless throughout Carlos’s speech in the final week.

Carlos admitted, through tears, that he was too focused on himself, explaining that this was the reason he didn’t get a celebrity partner the previous year, before being matched with winner Karen Carney.

Some people interpreted the comment as a subtle criticism of Nancy, who hadn’t been paired with a partner this year and had recently expressed her sadness about it.

According to a source, Nancy was clearly the only one who didn’t seem happy about Carlos’ victory.

Everyone had hoped they’d resolved their differences, but their conflict is actually worse than before. It was disappointing to see she couldn’t even pretend to be happy about it.

People worry that the negative reaction could permanently damage their relationship and create an even wider gap between them.

According to a source, the professional dancers were split on Carlos’s intentions – about half thought his comments were intended as insults towards Nancy, while the other half believed he was trying to make peace.

Daily Mail have reached out to Nancy and Carlos’ representatives for comment.

Fans of the show have been puzzled by the source of the disagreement, leading to a lot of speculation about how it started.

These two have been close friends since childhood, often referring to each other as family, and they both came to the UK to pursue their dance careers.

After Carlos wasn’t paired with the celebrity last year, the two reportedly stopped speaking and unfollowed each other on social media.

Carlos addressed the disagreement, telling Richard Eden of the Daily Mail, ‘We’re doing okay. We’ve been friends since we were kids, and friends sometimes argue. We’re very close – like siblings – so a complete falling out wouldn’t happen.’

Fighting back tears in the confession booth, Carlos emotionally shared with the audience: ‘She’s completely changed my life. I truly believe she’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me this year.’

He thought about how Karen had helped him develop as a person and in his career, explaining that she showed him the value of kindness, staying humble, and working well with others.

‘For the first time, I learned to be a team player,’ he said, before pausing to gather himself.

Seeing Carlos so upset really broke my heart, so I rushed over to offer him some support. I told him, ‘Carlos, you’re such a team player, and we all adore you! Your partnership means absolutely everything to us.’ It just felt like the right thing to say to lift his spirits.

‘You’re okay, baby. You’re amazing.’

That moment on the dance floor felt absolutely pivotal during the final – it was unforgettable! And just moments after, they were announced as the Strictly Come Dancing champions, beating George Clarke and Amber, which was amazing to watch.

While Carlos was speaking, many viewers noticed Nancy looking visibly angry and shared their reactions on X, with one user writing, ‘If you’re not a fan, please avoid being seen on camera and keep your opinions private.’

It was obvious Nancy couldn’t hide her dislike for Carlos, and she didn’t seem at all affected by his tears.
