Strictly Come Dancing star Tasha Ghouri ‘is paired with returning Aljaž Škorjanec in bid to bring back the feel-good factor’ after show was rocked by bullying allegations
As a longtime fan of “Strictly Come Dancing,” I must say, I am genuinely disheartened by the news that Kai Widdrington might not be participating this year. He is undoubtedly one of the best dancers and a true gentleman on the show; his absence would certainly leave a void. It seems like the Strictly magic is fading just a bit too quickly for my liking.
In the upcoming season of BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing, I am said to be partnered with Tasha Ghouri, a previous participant from Love Island.
As reported by The Sun, the partnership was unveiled on Wednesday with the aim of reintroducing a sense of positivity to the show, following a series of accusations concerning bullying that have recently surfaced.
According to a source, the executives at Strictly aim to create an extraordinary, heartwarming, and cozy program without any hint of controversy.

34-year-old Slovenian professional dancer Aljaž recently declared his comeback to the dance floor this July, marking the show’s 20th anniversary. The announcement came as it was made clear that Giovanni Pernice would not be a part of the cast for the upcoming season.
The celebrity, who became a father to Lyra along with his companion Janette Manrara in July of the previous year, expressed his desire to make his one-year-old daughter proud as he returns to the BBC show after a two-year absence.
It seems that the anticipated duo is indeed a reality, given that 26-year-old Tasha, well-versed in commercial dance, appears to be the female contestant every male professional dancer desires as their partner.
Meanwhile Nick Kowles, 61, is the ‘standout favourite’ among the female pros.
Following fan outrage, it appears that decision-makers have gone against popular opinion by assigning professional dancer Kai Widdrington no celebrity partner for the upcoming season.
For the 2023 competition, the dancer was teamed up with Angela Rippon, but unfortunately, due to a smaller pool of female celebrities, it seems he won’t be participating this year.
As a die-hard enthusiast, I’ve been left heartbroken and dismayed by the recent announcement that Kai won’t be partnering with another dance star this season. The outpouring of shared disappointment on social media speaks volumes about our collective passion for his exceptional talent!
It was raised as a concern that bringing back Pro Aljaž might have been hasty, given there was no female celebrity partner for at least one professional dancer.
In the posts made to X, it was stated: ‘What?! No! It appears that @kaiwidd has a partner. That implies that @Mr_NJones might be without a partner as well.’
It’s hard to believe! Kai is truly exceptional and genuinely kind-hearted. I can’t help but feel that the sparkle on Strictly is slowly fading.
Disappointed, Kai won’t have a dance partner this year. He’s a genuinely kind person and undeniably makes a fantastic representative for #Strictly, following the latest scandals.
This decision seems quite unfortunate given how popular Kai is among the audience, and I also count him as one of my favorite male professionals in the field.
‘If it’s true Kai has been benched this year I will be absolutely devastated’
Upon Aljaz’s latest comeback, a fan expressed curiosity by posting: “They’ve reinstated an experienced player and paired him with someone else, making it seem like they’re benching certain individuals. What on earth is happening here? Why?”
On the other hand, it seems that Tasha is brimming with enthusiasm as she prepares for her time on Strictly, and just recently, she posted numerous charming photos from her vacation in Marrakesh with her partner, Andrew Le Page.
On the Love Island 2022 show, where they first crossed paths, the fashion icon and social media sensation who became acquainted with Andrew, aged 29, recently posted a collection of affectionate photos, stylish outfits, and scenic dinner spots on her platform, celebrating her 26th birthday in grand style.
As I glanced at an unguarded moment, it was clear to see that the pair were deeply enamored, their eyes locked and their fashionable attire adding a touch of elegance to the scene as they prepared for an exciting evening together.
The couple recently sparked rumours they had secretly married in August.
The television personality shared a collection of affectionate photos on Instagram, depicting herself in a white gown with a bouquet of blossoms.
And fans came to the conclusion that the pair had finally tied the knot.
Tasha was revealed as the sixth celebrity confirmed for Strictly, beginning in September.
She is already the favourite to win the 20th anniversary series, currently priced by BetMGM at 4/1.
She’s closely trailing behind JB Gill, a former member of boy band JLS, who is presently listed at odds of 5/1, as well as 2005 X Factor winner Shayne Ward, who currently stands at odds of 11/2.
Speaking about the upcoming season of Strictly, Sam Behar, UK Director at BetMGM, noted that Tasha Ghouri’s background in commercial and street-style dancing might make her a strong contender, as she is currently the favorite with odds set at 4/1.
It’s likely that JB Gill would find himself comfortable on the dance floor, given his extensive background with JLS, and he’s currently being offered at odds of 5/1.
As a devoted follower, I eagerly await the commencement of the show in mid-September. Given the robust roster of participants, I’m bracing myself for some intense rivalry and unexpected twists as the season unfolds.
