Strictly Come Dancing star is forced to pull out of live show hours before taking to the stage
On Wednesday, just moments before stepping onto the stage for a live performance, Strictly Come Dancing‘s star, Janette Manrara, announced that she unfortunately had to withdraw due to unforeseen circumstances.
The current leading dancer is now appearing on the UK tour of Chicago, with a scheduled performance at Blackpool’s Winter Gardens.
As I poured my heart out on Instagram, I expressed my sincere apologies to all of you, my cherished fans, for I found myself unwell and unable to grace the stage with my performance.
I seldom miss a performance, but I regret to inform those attending Blackpool tonight that I won’t be able to make it.
‘I am unwell and must rest to recover quickly and be back on stage.
‘The cast is absolutely phenomenal so the show will be as magical as it always is.

‘I’m on the mend now and hoping to be back ASAP. Love you all, Jxxx.’
She shared with The Blackpool Gazette: “Blackpool is one of my most beloved spots within the United Kingdom. We visit annually for Strictly Come Dancing, and coincidentally, it usually falls near my birthday. As a result, I’ve celebrated more birthdays in Blackpool than anywhere else.
Typically, I visit during November, but coming here in July feels like an unexpected delight! I’m eager to bring my group to the Tower for a late-afternoon tea party and some dancing.
‘I’ve told them they have to see the ballroom with the big organ.’
After sharing insights into her personal challenges of being separated from her daughter Lyra, Janette expressed a strong desire to return home due to her hectic work schedule, which she described as “manic.
The host of It Takes Two, who is a parent to a two-year-old with her dance partner and husband Aljaž Škorjanec (age 35), has been keeping herself occupied by hosting the Strictly Live tour, appearing in the musical Chicago, and preparing for a series of performances with her spouse.
While discussing her concerns, she confided in The Mirror, “It was primarily concerning Lyra. Will she be alright? Will she return home? Will she continue to be with Aljaz? What’s the future holding for Lyra?
Even though I continue with the same activities, I’ve found myself carefully planning my schedule this year, as it has been incredibly busy. However, with her being a part of my life, I have never felt a stronger desire to be at home. In fact, I crave being at home now more than ever.

Additionally, Janette expressed hope that she would be back as co-host for the Strictly spin-off, teaming up with Fleur East once more. This role allowed her to have extra family time at home, as Aljaz focused on practicing with his celebrity partner.
In my own words, as a lifestyle expert, I shared with the press: “Should I return to work, I plan to dedicate two to three days a week to ‘It Takes Two’, leaving me ample time to be at home with Lyra. Those days off are my precious moments to embrace my role as a mother.
Last month, Janette penned a heartfelt Instagram message, filled with emotion, as she ready herself to say goodbye to her spouse and little girl.
After completing her run with the musical Chicago at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre, Janette subsequently embarked on a series of performances in Ireland at the Grand Opera House in Belfast, following her stint there.
As your trusted lifestyle advisor, let me share some exciting personal news: Over the next fortnight, I’ll be taking a break from my usual routine to reconnect with my family in the beautiful landscapes of Slovenia. Alas, this means I won’t be spending time with Aljaz and Lyra during those two weeks. But rest assured, we’ve got plans to catch up soon!
On her Instagram Stories, Janette shared a video where she disclosed that she had said goodbye to her family before her upcoming concerts, and also offered words of encouragement to fellow working parents.
She mentioned: “Hey everyone! I recently bid farewell to Aljaž and Lyra, and we won’t be together for the next two weeks. However, sharing our feelings can uplift us all.

As a devoted admirer, every passing moment seems unbearably long without Lyra by my side. The days tick by like hours as I eagerly await the moment when we shall reunite once more.
While I’m waiting, I’ll keep myself strong, knowing that Mommy is making her proud. She will have an amazing time with her cousins and Nan in Slovenia.
To all the parents who find yourselves parting from your children due to work or other circumstances, it can be challenging, but remember, you’ve got the strength to get through this! You can do it.
As a devoted admirer, I can’t help but echo Janette’s heartfelt sentiments she recently expressed to her cherished audience: “Sharing always lifts my spirits, and I hope it offers some solace to fellow working parents out there. It might be tough, but together, we can conquer!
