Strictly Come Dancing star Amy Dowden is rushed to hospital following backstage 'medical emergency' during live show - after breast cancer battle

As someone who has witnessed Amy Dowden’s resilience and determination throughout her remarkable journey, I can’t help but feel a mix of concern and admiration after learning about her recent hospitalization. This is a woman who faced breast cancer head-on, returned to Strictly Come Dancing after a two-year hiatus, and continues to dazzle us with her grace and skill on the dancefloor.

On Saturday night, Amy Dowden, a celebrity from Strictly Come Dancing, was quickly taken to the hospital after she fainted backstage right after the live performance.

A 34-year-old ballroom dancer from Wesh, believed to be in recovery from breast cancer, made her comeback on the show in September, after an absence of two years.

However, a medical emergency at the show’s Hertfordshire base required the attention of paramedics around 9:00 PM on Saturday night.

A representative from the East of England Ambulance Service announced that they received a call around 9 PM on Saturday, requesting them to respond to a medical emergency at Elstree Studios, located in Borehamwood.

Emergency services were dispatched to the location. A woman, approximately an adult, was taken by ambulance to Barnet Hospital for additional treatment.

A short while ago, the dancer executed the Foxtrot to the popular song “Dancing in the Moonlight” by Toploader alongside her famous partner, JB Gill from JLS.

After receiving a combined score of 32 from judges Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel-Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, and Anton DuBeke, the duo moved up to fifth place on the Strictly leaderboard.

According to a representative from Dowden, Amy didn’t feel well, so they called an ambulance just to be safe.

‘She is feeling much better and would like to thank the Strictly family for their love and concern.

‘We request Amy’s privacy in matters of health is kindly respected.’
