Motsi Mabuse, a judge on Strictly Come Dancing, has joined other professionals on the show in voicing their surprise over the announcement that Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman will be stepping down after the current season.
Fans and those who work on the show were surprised Thursday morning when the longtime hosts announced they were leaving in a joint Instagram post, leading to an outpouring of reactions.
Mabuse, 44, shared the video on her social media and said she was shocked by the news.
Commenting on the announcement, she wrote: ‘Speechless. End of an era.’
Mabuse’s sister, Oti, a former professional performer, shared a heartfelt message: ‘This is so upsetting! It’s been wonderful working with you both. Thank you for all the amazing memories, for being such strong female role models, for all the fun, and for feeling like family all these years.’
We always looked forward to seeing you both on weekends! We’re going to miss you terribly and wish you all the best in the future.

Karen Hauer, a professional dancer on the show, praised the pair, saying, ‘I admire you both – you’re a fantastic team!’
Janette Manrara, host of It Takes Two, shared her reaction to the news, calling the departing pair ‘legends of the ballroom and Saturday night TV.’ She added that she’s greatly enjoyed working with them and will miss them.
‘And, as our show’s saying goes, always and forever “keep dancing.”’
Michelle Tsiakkas, a cast member since 2022, shared a heartfelt message saying that the two individuals were essential to the show’s success and it won’t feel the same without them.
You’re both fantastic! I’m incredibly grateful for the chance to have worked with you, and I wish you all the best going forward.
Joanne Clifton expressed her excitement, saying, ‘I can’t believe it! Thank you so much for all the wonderful memories. You’re both legends, and it was a real honor to share the Strictly experience with you.’
As someone who’s been following the show and Amy Dowden’s incredibly inspiring journey – she came back this year after facing breast cancer, which was amazing – I was just as shocked to hear about their leaving as she was. It really came as a surprise to everyone, and it’s hard to believe they’re moving on.
She expressed her disappointment and sadness, saying she’s been a fan of these wonderful performers for 21 years and was thrilled to see them join the show. She thanked them for bringing so much joy, grace, fun, and fantastic entertainment to the country.
‘Thank you! Going to miss you both so much! Welsh love always.’

Tasha Ghouri, a contestant from the 2024 season, shared a heartfelt message: ‘You two have been amazing! I’ll always remember how kind and supportive you were, and how you brought so much joy to the show. Sending you both lots of love and wishing you continued success with your dancing!’
Giovanna Fletcher, who also competed on the show, shared her support, writing: ‘So lovely to see you two working together! It’s been amazing watching you both do so well!!’
Holly Willoughby, a close friend and fellow TV host, shared her reaction: ‘Wow… thank you both so much! I’ve really enjoyed watching you over the years – you’re truly iconic! Sending you lots of love and wishing you all the best!’
Elsewhere, TV presenter Kate Thornton wrote: ‘What an incredible achievement ladies.
You’ve been wonderful to watch on Strictly, leading the show with so much kindness, humor, and energy. It won’t be the same without you!
