As a seasoned Strictly Come Dancing enthusiast who has been following this show for decades, I must say that this year’s final was nothing short of spectacular! Chris McCausland truly embodied the spirit of the competition and his journey as the first ever blind contestant made every single performance even more captivating. His cheeky wit, inspiring story, and undeniable charm were a breath of fresh air in an era where scandals have tarnished the reputation of the show.

As a lifestyle connoisseur, I must share some intriguing news about Strictly Come Dancing: this season’s champion, Chris McCausland, has stirred up a fresh debate. The popular dance competition finds itself entangled in a new controversy as the winner of this year’s series is causing quite a stir.

In 2024, Chris, paired with professional dancer Dianne Buswell, was declared the champions of the show. This was a historic moment as Chris became the first-ever blind contestant and eventual winner of the competition.

In the much-acclaimed finale held last Saturday, Chris, aged 47, managed to outshine fellow contestants Tasha Ghouri, JB Gill, and Sarah Hadland. His charming humor and moving life narrative seemed to have rejuvenated the show after a year filled with controversies.

In this competition, every couple showcased three dances to the judges, making it the highest-scoring final ever. Later on, Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman declared Chris as the victor, earning him the coveted Glitterball trophy.

Although some spectators deemed Chris a deserving winner, others argued that Tasha displayed superior technical skills on the dance floor and believed she should have been crowned instead.

Throughout the performance, dance judge Anton Du Beke was thoroughly impressed by Love Island’s Tasha, age 26, going so far as to claim she was the “most outstanding dancer” ever featured on the show.

Fans concurred: “Chris was truly remarkable, but I believe he was assessed differently compared to the other contenders. In my view, it seems that Tasha was unfairly overlooked.

‘Tasha should have won, at the end of the day it’s about dancing.’

‘Tasha should have won she was the best dancer out of them all even Anton said that.’

It’s unfortunate when individuals cast their votes for well-known celebrities instead of the most skilled dancers. From the start, it was evident who would emerge victorious due to their fame rather than their dancing abilities.

‘Chris was amazing but Tasha was technically better.’

Was the Strictly Come Dancing finale worth watching, considering Chris was already destined to win the Glitterball trophy regardless of who was better on that particular night? It’s hard not to feel a little sympathy for the other celebrities who put in the effort to compete.

‘Chris may have achieved a lot but he was not the best dancer’

‘Chris is the weakest of the 4 finalists. But he is the most deserving winner.’

‘Tasha and Sarah would’ve been the ideal winners, as they moved gracefully on the dance floor. However, Chris remains an admirable victor.’

Following Chris’s victory, tears welled up in his eyes as he was warmly greeted by his celebrity peers, then he playfully hoisted Dianne above his shoulders in a victorious display, causing the crowd to erupt with cheers.

Chris was asked about his feelings during that moment, and he responded by saying: “I’m utterly amazed, I’m at a loss for words. To be honest, I genuinely believed I wouldn’t last more than a week or two, and I knew no one made it through the first week, but I still thought I could.

“I’ve been pushed to my limits by Dianne, and she has extracted so much from me. She truly deserves that trophy.” He continued to express his admiration for her “unwavering positivity” and “strong belief”.

Later on, he playfully remarked, “If she doesn’t change her phone number, I’m not going anywhere. This serves as a testament to the fact that with the right chances and backing, anyone can achieve anything!” (for Dianne and everyone else out there)

In the series finale, Chris earned a flawless 40 points for his emotional waltz set to “You’ll Never Walk Alone” by Gerry and the Pacemakers. This stunning performance left both the judges and audience in tears.

In an innovative twist, his second performance combined various dance genres to the track “You Get What You Give” by New Radicals. He also reenacted his popular “blackout” move during their first dance.

Apart from that, Chris and Dianne grooved along to a song they picked themselves – “Instant Karma!” or simply “We All Shine On,” composed by the legendary John Lennon.
