Strictly Come Dancing fans ‘absolutely fuming’ after ‘most entertaining’ professional is ‘benched’ as show makes its return
As a seasoned dance enthusiast with years of experience under my belt, I must say that this year’s Strictly Come Dancing lineup is nothing short of spectacular! With EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick and Gladiators legend Montell Douglas gracing the dancefloor, it’s clear that the competition will be fierce.
As a die-hard fan of Strictly Come Dancing, I can’t hide my frustration and disappointment over the producers’ choice to sideline the most captivating professional dancer. It feels like they’ve robbed us of the excitement and joy he brings to the dance floor every week!
On the weekend, as the dazzling competition graced our TV screens once more, many viewers expressed their disappointment upon learning that Carlos Gu didn’t have a famous companion for the show.
In 2022, the 31-year-old dancer participated in the show and, alongside EastEnders actress Molly Rainford, reached the finale during their debut series.
Last year he was partnered with presenter Angela Scanlon, with the pair voted out in week ten.
Expressing their feelings about the absence of Carlos from the dance floor, the show’s enthusiasts shared: “I can’t help but feel a tinge of sadness that Carlos isn’t dancing with a partner tonight, but I’m still thrilled for the series. Strictly season is my absolute favorite!
Another commenter exclaimed: ‘Did they actually sit out Carlos? Shut the whole thing down immediately!’; ‘I have only one thing to tell the producers, how could you bench Carlos? Never do it again!’; ‘I’m quite upset that Carlos wasn’t partnered this year!’
It seems like there’s some confusion, as I don’t recall Carlos Gu being one of the professional dancers for Strictly Come Dancing 2024. Isn’t he missing from the lineup?
Last January, I myself expressed apprehensions about my potential comeback to the show, following our elimination alongside my celebrity counterpart Angela Scanlon during week ten the previous year.
As I chatted with The Mirror recently, I couldn’t help but spill the beans about my anticipated comeback on that beloved BBC series we all adore. Keep your eyes peeled for its broadcast later in the year!
He said: ‘Fingers cross you know. I hope I will’.
On weekends, the long-time favorite show made its comeback on television, stirring up a significant controversy and earning an unexpected NTA award in celebration of its 20th anniversary.
2021 Olympic swimmer Tom Dean is set to participate alongside professional dancer Nadiya Bychkova, while pop artist Toyah Willcox takes the dance floor with returning partner Neil Jones, marking his comeback after a 3-year hiatus from the series.
Amy Dowden, victorious after battling breast cancer, is set to partner with JB Gill from JLS for their upcoming dance in the series.
Actor Jamie Borthwick from EastEnders will dance with Michelle Tsiakkas, while Gladiator’s star Montell Douglas will be dancing against Johannes Radebe in competition.
Karen Hauer is teamed with the former footballer, Paul Merson, while Jowitza Przysta is partnered with the previous TOWIE cast member, Pete Wicks.
Luba Mushtuk will be showing DIY SOS host Nick Knowles the way as they go through the process, while hockey star Sam Quek has been paired with Celebrity Big Brother contestants Nikita Kuzmin and Chris McCausland has been partnered with Diane Buswell.
Television viewers primarily recognize opera singer Wynne Evans from his appearances in the GoCompare commercials. He’s paired with Katya Jones, while Shayne Ward, a previous winner of The X Factor, will be dancing with Nancy Xu to complete the lineup.
Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday September 21 on BBC1.
