Strictly Come Dancing confirms singers Toyah Willcox and Wynne Evans for the 2024 series

Strictly Come Dancing confirms singers Toyah Willcox and Wynne Evans for the 2024 series

As a spectator and admirer of resilience and determination, I find myself utterly inspired by these two celebrities who have bravely signed up for Strictly Come Dancing this year. Chris McCausland, at 46, lost his sight at 22 due to Retinitis Pigmentosa, yet he continues to conquer new territories and challenges himself in the most extraordinary ways. His comedic skills have already brought laughter and joy to millions, and now he’s taking on the dance floor.

The next three celebrity contestants for the 2024 series have been revealed.

On Tuesday morning, during his BBC Radio 2 broadcast, Vernon Kay introduced Tess Daly’s husband, Wynne Evans, Toyah Willcox, and Dr. Punam Krishan as special guests.

Wynne is a multi-talented individual from Wales, recognized for his work as a singer, television host, and actor. He gained fame portraying Gio Compario and more recently appearing as himself in commercials for Go.compare insurance campaigns.

Toyah has been entertaining audiences on both stage and screen for more than five decades now. She is a celebrated rock icon who’s known for chart-topping hits like “It’s A Mystery,” “I Want to Be Free,” and “Brave New World.” This year, she graced the stage at the Glastonbury Festival alongside her husband, Robert Fripp.

Wynne shared with Vernon, “I found it hard to believe, as it felt like a secret operation. You receive a code name, go through an audition process, and get to interact with celebrities – which happens to be one of my favorite experiences.”

As a devoted admirer, I eagerly anticipate the waltz, the timeless dance of the grand ballroom. Over the years, I’ve immersed myself in opera, and I feel it aligns perfectly with my taste.

‘The stuff I’m nervous about it the ones jumping because I don’t really want to do the jive, I’m kind of a bit nervous about that but I’m taking inspiration from Bill Bailey. I’m going to throw myself into it.’

I’m making a transition to a circular residence and finding it easier on my feet now that I’ve purchased dance shoes – even some ballet flats and new gym attire. I’ve also got a bag, pencil case, and notepad for jotting down ideas. I’m quite smitten by the allure and brilliance.

“For some time, I’ve appeared in ads that have been stuck in people’s minds, and now, strangely enough, the theme song from Strictly seems to be playing in mine.”

Wynne is widely recognized for his exceptional abilities in opera, spanning over a 25-year career. During this time, he’s achieved two top-ranking classical music albums and served as principal artist at many renowned opera houses globally. Moreover, he has graced the stage of London’s Royal Albert Hall more than 200 times.

At present, he hosts a daily program on BBC Radio Wales, while earlier in his career, he also managed radio shows on BBC Radio 3 and Classic FM.

He told Strictly: ‘I am honestly still pinching myself, a portly balding opera singer, me, taking part in Strictly Come Dancing?!’

As a seasoned traveler with a lifetime of experiences under my belt, I must admit that I find myself uncertain about how this new challenge will unfold. But should things take a turn for the worse, I’ve learned over the years that sometimes the best course of action is to master the art of distraction.

As a passionate opera lover and former winner of Celebrity MasterChef, I’ve decided to merge my two greatest passions into one exciting routine. With my culinary prowess and deep appreciation for opera, perhaps I can win over the judges with a symphony of flavors that resonate as beautifully as an aria. After all, life is about finding creative ways to express oneself, and this fusion of art forms feels like the perfect way to do just that.

Meanwhile, Toyah made an appearance in the Radio 2 studio alongside Vernon, confessing that she had been itching to reveal this news, particularly following her performance at Glastonbury in June. She added that the upcoming event would serve as the perfect finale to a truly remarkable year for her.

‘I’ve done so many festivals and Glastonbury and I wanted to be like “guess what?!”.’

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I recently graced the stage of Avalon, yet I found myself repeatedly dismissing rumors that I was participating in Strictly Come Dancing. In truth, I simply couldn’t resist showing off some of my dance moves to the crowd and asking, “What do you think of my steps?”

As a lifestyle connoisseur, let me express my sheer enthusiasm and affection for this captivating series. Being included in its fold is an unparalleled joy, adorned with a golden glow from the spray tan, and sprinkled with shimmering glitter. This year marks a significant milestone for me, stepping into retirement, gracing Glastonbury, and now, I’m getting spray tans – what a remarkable journey!

Additionally, Toyah is just as thrilled about collaborating with Wynne, whom she’s acquainted with for more than three decades, as she mentioned to Vernon earlier.

She admitted that the dances she’s most excited about, including salsa and cha-cha-cha, are somewhat challenging for her.

Originating from Birmingham, I’ve mastered the art of jiving. In the past, I was often left without a dance partner, but I’d seize the opportunity and command the dance floor on my own.

“I believe I excel as a student, but once I become fatigued, my performance dips. To regain my energy, I’ll incorporate some fun elements like glitter and music.”

In my journey, I find myself drawn to the resilience and determination of Ann Widdecombe. Much like her, I too have faced challenges and setbacks, but the spirit of Blackpool has become a beacon for me. Last week, I had the honor of gracing its stage, an experience that was both daunting and exhilarating. As I danced under the bright lights, I couldn’t help but wonder if I would return to this magical place later this year – it’s where I envision myself continuing to grow and evolve. Though I may not always know who is by my side, I trust that they will carry me through, just as Blackpool has carried me thus far.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I’ve often reflected on my family history, particularly my mom’s incredible journey. At the tender age of 18, she graced the stage in 1948 – a moment etched in our family lore. Before that, from the ripe age of 12, she was a captivating child actress, and by 19, she had embarked on a new chapter of her life as a newlywed.

As a lifestyle expert, I frequently grace stages where she once danced, and it always moves me profoundly. It seems almost destined that I harbor an inherent, uncontrollable passion for dance, yet I recognize the need for guidance to refine my skills. While I’ve performed before, there is still a wealth of knowledge I seek from a skilled mentor.

Toyah boasts a remarkable career that includes thirteen top 40 hits, the creation of twenty-five studio albums, authorship of two books, participation in more than forty stage productions, roles in over twenty movies, and hosting numerous TV shows.

In the year 2018, Toyah was honored with the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts Companionship by Paul McCartney, recognizing her exceptional achievements in music, drama, stage performance, and media.

As a lifestyle aficionado, let me express my excitement: Wow, Strictly Come Dancing! Can you imagine? This journey is set to be an electrifying and enchanting experience, and I can’t wait to be part of each dazzling moment.

“Though I’m accustomed to entertaining large audiences, this new experience feels utterly novel to me. I can’t predict my performance outcome… I’m eager to dive in and master some dance moves right away!”

In simpler terms, the first famous participant unveiled for the 2024 series turned out to be comedian Chris McCausland. He made this announcement on the morning show, This Morning, on a Monday.

2021 marked the first instance of sign language being incorporated into the dance competition, following its successful incorporation by deaf EastEnders actress Rose Ayling-Ellis who won the Glitterball Trophy together with her partner Giovanni Pace that year.

Actor Chris, who is a comedian and works for CBeebies, went blind at the age of 22 as a result of an inherited eye disease called Retinitis Pigmentosa. (97 characters)

Later on This Morning JLS star JB Gill was the second celeb confirmed.

As a die-hard devotee, I’m eagerly tracing the path that my idol, Aston Merrygold, trod when he was sent packing in the 10th spot during the thrilling season of 2017. Now, it’s my turn to watch JB walk the same ground.

As a dance enthusiast and lifestyle guru, I must share that I’ve had a delightful stint with the renowned Strictly Come Dancing series, gracing its stage during the festive season of 2012. In partnership with the exceptional dancer Ola Jordan, I danced the vibrant Jive and brought home the Christmas Special trophy for BBC One.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I’ve recently dived into a new series and let me tell you, the Christmas special was an absolute blast to be a part of!

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I must confess that the dance I recently experienced bore a striking resemblance to what I used to perform in JLS. However, unlike many ballroom styles, they seem like unfamiliar territories to me – I didn’t dance these styles during my upbringing. To set the record straight, I should mention that I am not a professionally trained dancer.

Over the past few weeks, strict order or discipline has been thrown into turmoil due to several accusations of misconduct by its professionals emerging.

Last year, Amanda Abbington left the show amid a scandal, following allegations she made against her partner, Giovanni Pernice, accusing him of abusive behavior. Subsequently, she departed from the program.

Shortly following the revelation that Graziano Di Prima was dismissed due to an alleged altercation with his Love Island co-star Zara McDermott.

Regardless of the numerous accusations, Strictly plans to continue its 2024 season. The complete cast will be announced soon.

In the recent past, I’ve learned that my friend Pete Wicks has decided to join a new venture, even though it’s been made public that his good friend Zara McDermott experienced both physical and verbal abuse from her dance partner, Graziano Di Prima, last year.

Additionally, it’s said that former Arsenal player Paul Merson and DIY SOS host Nick Knowles have allegedly donned their dance attire as well.

In the interim, it’s come to light that Tom Dean violated Strictly rules by disclosing his participation in the forthcoming season prior to the formal announcement.

The 24-year-old swimmer intends to emulate his teammate Adam Peaty by participating, as per recent news confirmations.

The BBC carefully conceals the identities of celebrities participating in each season, and these stars typically remain silent about rumors until they are formally announced.

Tom affirmed, following the men’s 200 meters individual medley event at the Olympics in Paris on Thursday, that he is about to hit the dancefloor.

The individual expressed: “It’s only natural to desire a rest following an entire Olympic cycle, especially when a new opportunity presents itself. I found the prospect of trying something fresh incredibly enticing. After this change, I will immediately return to training.”
