Strictly Come Dancing confirms Paris Olympics champion for 2024 series
As a seasoned fan who’s witnessed the dance floor magic of Strictly Come Dancing for years, I must say, the addition of Tom Dean to the 2024 lineup has me utterly thrilled! This man is not just a swimming sensation, but a testament to British sports prowess.
It’s been verified that Olympic swimming champion, Tom Dean, is joining the cast for Strictly Come Dancing in 2024.
After securing Team GB’s victory in the 4x200m freestyle relay at the Paris Olympics, Tom is ready to show his moves on the dance floor when BBC One’s dancing competition resumes this fall.
Tom admitted that he unintentionally overlooked his involvement during a recent Olympics interview. In a subsequent statement, he clarified, “I will be competing on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ in 2024!”
“Ever since my slip-up at the poolside, I’ve been bursting at the seams with anticipation! Now, I can finally share my excitement about diving headfirst into something fresh, crossing paths with amazing individuals, and shaking a leg or two. Game on!”
Tom’s impressive swimming accomplishments feature a personal gold win in the men’s 200-meter freestyle at the Tokyo Olympics, as well as a team victory in the 4x200m freestyle relay event.
During the 2021 Olympics, he was the first British male swimmer to secure two gold medals at a single event in more than a century. Remarkably, both James Guy and Adam Peaty, a former “Strictly” contestant, managed to achieve this feat later in the same week as well.
Tom was also part of the 2023 gold medal-winning team at the World Aquatics Championships.
