As a long-time fan of Strictly Come Dancing, I must say that this year has been quite the rollercoaster for the contestants. But none more so than Nick Knowles, who seems to have faced more challenges off the dance floor than on it! From a car breakdown to an injury that would make most people think twice about continuing, Nick’s determination and resilience are truly inspiring.

It appears that supervisors are worried that Nick Knowles might have to permanently leave the competition, as he had to withdraw from last Saturday’s episode due to an injury.

62-year-old DIY SOS host has to skip Movie Week following a week of uncertainty about his role on the program due to a shoulder issue, and then he sustained a knee injury during practice sessions.

On this past Friday, I found myself sharing some personal news on It Takes Two with Nick – I’m currently waiting for an MRI and have been using crutches due to certain circumstances. However, as per the show’s regulations, I’ve been granted a waiver to perform next week without any penalties.

According to a source, the fact that he is undergoing scans demonstrates the gravity of the situation. Medical professionals can only provide so much time for him to recuperate.

Losing Nick, who is well-liked by many, this early in the contest could negatively impact the show’s viewership as well.

At present, things seem less than ideal, but everyone is crossing their fingers that the situation improves over the weekend.

TopMob have contacted BBC for comment.

In the spin-off show, Nick, accompanied by his partner Luba Mushtuk, spoke only a few hours after injuring himself. He mentioned, “During our initial practice session or the dress rehearsal we had today on the stage,” instead of using more formal language.

Due to an unfortunate incident, I’ve injured my knee, causing quite a bit of discomfort. As a result, my physiotherapists believe it’s necessary for me to undergo an MRI scan to get a better understanding of the injury.

Luba mentioned: ‘Regrettably, we won’t be dancing tomorrow, but we truly wish our knee heals quickly so we can return to the dance floor by next week.’

‘Fingers crossed, we really hope that we’ll be back and see you guys very soon.’

Instead of focusing on the negative, Nick jokingly added: “Even if we need to bedazzle our canes, I am set on recovering so I can dance for you again next week.

A Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a scanning technique that employs powerful magnets and radio frequencies to generate high-quality, internal body images.

Following the controversy, Strictly fans were displeased when Nick was granted a pass to the following week’s competition, labeling the move as ‘unfair’.

According to a statement from BBC officials, due to the rules of the show, Nick and Luba will automatically advance to the next week without needing to compete. However, viewers expressed their anger upon learning that another pair might be eliminated on Sunday instead.

In a simpler and more conversational way, you could rephrase it as: “They posted on Instagram that if someone can’t dance because of an injury, they should withdraw from the competition.

It seems that #NickKnowles won’t be dancing on this weekend’s #Strictly. As is customary with the rules, they will receive a pass for the following Saturday. However, I’ve never been a fan of these rules – if you miss a week, it should mean immediate elimination from the show.

If he doesn’t return, it essentially means a trio will make the final, considering our potential loss this week. Given the early stage of the competition, it seems fair to keep everyone on board. After all, we never know when another injury might strike.

While some fans called for Tom Dean, the Olympic swimmer who left the show last week under controversial circumstances, to come back instead of Nick.

Let’s invite @tomdean00 back for another round, as it seems unfair and unjust that he left us last week.

Later on, Nick ended his quiet period and posted on social media, sharing an image of the BBC’s announcement along with the caption: ‘I’m completely heartbroken and feeling extremely sad.’

The BBC announced that Nick Knowles won’t participate next week because of an injury, and while we hope he recovers soon, it seems unfair for someone to get a pass for the next week while still eliminating a celebrity this weekend. Perhaps, they could consider granting a second chance to all celebrities next week if one has a bye.

On numerous occasions, celebrities competing on Strictly Come Dancing have faced challenging injuries, such as when Zara McDermott sustained a severe leg fracture the previous year. Despite this, she chose to persevere and continue performing.

Last week, Nick found himself nervously waiting on news about his residence, having gotten hurt while attempting to change a tire when his vehicle malfunctioned en route to his 62nd birthday celebration.

On Instagram, Nick posted: “Heading to the studios today, it’s showtime! I’ve spent the past couple of days mastering the dance as best as I can.

As your go-to lifestyle guide, I assure you that I will pour my heart and soul into the performance tonight. My exceptional dance partner, Luba Mushtuk, has truly outdone herself by crafting an extraordinary routine that promises to dazzle the audience. Let’s make this night unforgettable!

“Now, it’s just a matter of doing it. This week has been challenging, but I can’t wait to dance tonight! And by the way, my shoulder is improving daily.

I appreciate every message of encouragement and affection you’ve shared with me. Remember, my position in the bottom four is due to last week’s performance. Tonight’s dance could determine my future in this contest, so if you’d like us, Luba and myself, to continue in the competition, please don’t forget to cast your vote!

Nick received approval from the producers of the show, bolstered by his strong fan base, and danced again during the second week, earning him a total of 21 points out of 40.
