Excitement among Street Fighter enthusiasts has grown following the emergence of previously unseen photographs, offering a first glimpse of Orville Peck portraying Vega. This captivating picture was initially posted on actress Callina Liang’s Instagram Story, and later shared by Peck himself.
Orville Peck shares first BTS look as Vega in Street Fighter
In a fresh behind-the-scenes glimpse, South African musician Orville Peck highlighted Vega’s long blonde locks and snake tattoo. However, fans are left guessing if the mask seen in this sneak peek will make it to the final version of the movie. Vega, one of the four initial bosses in 1991’s Street Fighter II, is being portrayed as a “Spanish Ninja” working under the command of Shadaloo leader M. Bison, played by David Dastmalchian, in this upcoming film.

In the recently unveiled collection of photos, Noah Centineo dons the complete attire as Ken Masters. From its inception, Ken and Ryu have been the main combatants driving this series. They are well-known for executing the Dragon Punch and Hadoken fireball techniques. Andrew Koji assumes the role of Ryu, while Callina Liang embodies Chun-Li and Andrew Schulz portrays Dan Hibiki.

Cody Rhodes, currently WWE’s Undisputed Champion, is set to embody Guile in a video game context, hinted by a previous silhouetted image that matched his character’s appearance from the games. Additionally, it has been reported that Jason Momoa will play Blanka. Roman Reigns assumes the role of Akuma, a fighter who tragically killed Ryu and Ken’s mentor Gouken in the game series.
Capcom’s Street Fighter continues to be a highly sought-after fighting game series, yet its live-action adaptations have consistently faced challenges. The 1994 film starring Jean-Claude Van Damme and Kylie Minogue managed to garner a cult following despite negative reviews. On the other hand, Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li in 2009 was met with poor critical reception and disappointing box office returns.
originally led by Danny and Michael Philippou, the reboot is now under the guidance of Director Kitao Sakurai. Notably known for writing, directing, and producing The Eric Andre Show, Sakurai has also directed episodes for Amazon Prime’s upcoming series Butterfly and Peacock’s Twisted Metal.
As a cinephile eagerly anticipating the next big blockbuster, I can’t help but feel a thrill as the first tantalizing peeks behind the curtain are revealed! Though plot specifics remain shrouded in mystery for now, these intriguing glimpses of our talented cast hard at work on set have me more than excited to see their collective efforts come to life on the silver screen.
