Street Fighter Reboot Fan Art Reveals Wild First Look at Cody Rhodes’ Guile and Dastmalchian’s Bison

As a cinephile excitedly counting down the days, I can’t help but share my latest scoop: The stellar cast for the upcoming movie is shaping up marvelously! Just recently, there’s been buzz about some heavyweight talents joining the project. You might have heard that the chilling performer from Late Night with the Devil and The Suicide Squad has landed the role of M. Bison. That’s right, he’ll be stepping into those ominous shoes!

Now, here’s where it gets even more intriguing: Rumor has it that WWE sensation Cody Rhodes is in negotiations to embody Guile, the resilient soldier with the iconic flat-top. If the deal goes through, I can hardly wait to see him bring this legendary character to life on the big screen!

Instead of hitting the big screen until next year, Street Fighter is generating curiosity among fans about who might embody the characters on-screen. Digital artist Kode “BossLogic” Abdo has shared some creative interpretations of how Michael Dastmalchian and Jamie Rhodes could potentially fit the bill. The artworks, published on , showcase a visualization of the characters staying true to their original video game appearances, including Guile’s signature hairstyle. You can check out these intriguing depictions below:

Following two consecutive WrestleMania appearances for Rhodes, it’s also been rumored that his WWE colleague Roman Reigns will take on the role of Akuma in the film. Other actors allegedly joining the cast include Andrew Koji as Ryu, Noah Centineo portraying Ken Masters, Jason Momoa as Blanka, Callina Liang as Chun-Li, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson playing Balrog, Orville Peck as Vega, and Andrew Schulz in the role of Dan.

Street Fighter Had a Change in Directors Ahead of Casting

Previously, filmmakers Danny and Michael Philippou (also known as RackaRacka on YouTube) were slated to helm the upcoming Street Fighter movie. However, these twin brothers decided to depart from the project in favor of directing their horror film titled Bring Her Back, a sequel to their successful movie Talk to Me. Subsequently, Kitao Sakurai took over as director for Street Fighter, but the movie was pushed back due to this change. Originally scheduled for release on March 20, 2026, the film has since been removed from its release schedule and a new date has yet to be announced.

As a follower, I’m thrilled to share that right now, I’m among those shining brightly in the WWE scene. Recently, I had the privilege of teaming up with John Cena at WrestleMania, and I emerged victorious from the company’s recent King of the Ring tournament. Now, I’m stepping into a new realm as I make my live-action feature film debut – an exciting venture that could potentially mirror the paths taken by Cena, Dave Bautista, and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in transitioning to Hollywood.

As a film aficionado, I can’t help but admire David Dastmalchian’s captivating performance in the chilling horror film “Late Night with the Devil.” This seasoned character actor has made quite an impression on audiences, with his memorable role as Polka-Dot Man in James Gunn’s “The Suicide Squad.” Though he’s graced the silver screen in numerous blockbusters such as Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight” and the upcoming “Oppenheimer,” it seems that M. Bison might just be Dastmalchian’s most significant role yet, given his position as the film’s main adversary.

The Street Fighter reboot is expected to be released in theaters sometime in 2026.
