Street Fighter Movie Gets Major Shakeup as Eric André Joins Cast

Fresh details about the forthcoming “Street Fighter” movie indicate that there might be some changes in store, as comedian Eric André has joined the cast.

What is the Street Fighter movie shakeup?

As per a recent report by Puck, the forthcoming movie marks the debut of Legendary Entertainment’s franchises being distributed through their new agreement with Paramount. In other words, unlike previously being released under Sony Pictures, this film will now carry the Paramount label.

A follow-up piece from Nexus Point News corroborates earlier speculation that Eric André has been cast in the film. The report indicates that André will portray Don Sauvage, a character from the games who functions as the announcer for the CWA within the game’s universe.

The acting lineup for the upcoming Street Fighter film boasts an impressive roster, with Andrew Koji portraying Ryu, Callina Liang stepping into Chun-Li’s role, Noah Centineo taking on Ken, Jason Momoa cast as Blanka, Roman Reigns given Akuma, Orville Peck set for Vega, and Andrew Schulz assigned Dan Hibiki. The latest reports suggest that Hirooki Goto from New Japan Pro-Wrestling will embody E. Honda, while Indian action star Vidyut Jammwal is said to be Dhalsim in the movie. Lastly, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson has been confirmed for Balrog’s part.

The filming for this project is set to start in Australia in August. At the moment, specific plot details are being kept secret. Both Legendary Entertainment and Capcom are collaborating on developing and producing this project.

A release date for the Street Fighter movie has not yet been set.
