It’s been reported that another prominent figure from the world of wrestling has signed up for the upcoming “Street Fighter” live-action movie, taking on the role of E. Honda.

Who is playing E. Honda in the live-action Street Fighter movie?

As reported by Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp, the esteemed New Japan Pro-Wrestling figure, Hirooki Goto, is set to make his cinematic debut as the legendary character E. Honda. Kicking off his wrestling journey in 2003, Goto has amassed an impressive collection of over a dozen championship titles with the company, often capturing their highest honors multiple times throughout his career.

In the realm of Street Fighter games, E. Honda is a longstanding character. He was initially one of eight playable characters introduced in Street Fighter II and has been featured in every game since then. Additionally, he made an appearance in the 1994 live-action film, portrayed by Peter “Navy” Tuiasosopo.

In the upcoming movie, another professional wrestler named Goto is expected to make an appearance, following reports that WWE star Cody Rhodes will take on the role of Guile, and it’s also been rumored that Joe Anoa’i, better known as Roman Reigs, might portray Akuma.

In the upcoming Street Fighter film, an illustrious ensemble of actors has been assembled. Among them are Andrew Koji portraying Ryu, Callina Liang taking on Chun-Li, Noah Centineo stepping into the role of Ken, Jason Momoa transforming into Blanka, Roman Reigns embodying Akuma, Orville Peck assuming the character of Vega, Andrew Schulz playing Dan Hibiki, and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson donning the part of Balrog.

Filming for this upcoming project is slated to start down under, specifically in August. At present, specifics about the storyline are being kept confidential. Notably, both Legendary Entertainment and Capcom are jointly working on developing and producing this intriguing venture.

A release date for the Street Fighter movie has not yet been set.
