Street Fighter dominates Evo 2024 stream: Event stats and more
As a long-time fighting game enthusiast and Evo attendee since the early 2000s, I can confidently say that this year’s event was nothing short of phenomenal. Street Fighter 6 absolutely crushed it with its viewership numbers, and it was a sight to behold. With over half of the total hours watched going to SF6, it’s clear that Capcom has done something right with their latest iteration.
At the Evo 2024 event, Street Fighter significantly outperformed expectations in terms of audience viewership.
As a longtime fighting game enthusiast who has attended numerous tournaments over the years, I must say that the latest Evo 2024 stream numbers have left me simply astounded. The sheer number of Street Fighter fans tuning in from home was nothing short of incredible, and it’s no surprise that the game dominated the charts. Having been to my fair share of tournaments, I can confidently say that Evo 2024 was absolutely electrifying, with an energy level that was off the charts (pun intended). The popularity of Street Fighter, a classic in the fighting game community, is something I’ve witnessed firsthand, and it seems that this year’s event only solidified its status as a fan favorite.
After releasing Street Fighter 6 a year ago, fans have eagerly awaited rewriting history in fighting tournaments as we approach its first anniversary.
Street Fighter generates more than half of Evo 2024 viewership
From July 19 to 21, 2024, Evo reached staggering heights, placing it among the largest tournaments held in that year. Boasting numerous fighting game competitions within its scope, there was only one champion to emerge victorious.
That game is Street Fighter 6.
For several years, a widely-loved fighting game has been drawing massive crowds at Evo tournaments. However, in this year’s event, it captured over half of the total viewership.

Based on escharts data, Street Fighter 6 accounted for about 53% of the total viewing time during Evo 2024. The game was watched for approximately 3.66 million hours, whereas Tekken 8 ranked second with 1.32 million hours watched. This means that the viewership for Street Fighter 6 more than doubled compared to Tekken 8.

Evo viewership highly increased over past few years
At Evo 2024, there was a significant jump in viewership by 48%, as compared to the event held two years prior in 2022. Over 150 hours of gaming action were broadcast throughout the weekend, indicating that Evo 2024 is contributing to the promising future and success of fighting game tournaments.
