The American drama The Cleaning Lady is quickly becoming popular on Netflix UK since its addition on March 31st. It’s currently the third most-watched show in the UK, following XO, Kitty and Love on the Spectrum.
The show centers around a doctor who used to be a surgeon. She’s living in the US with an expired visa and is working to earn enough money for her son’s critical medical care.
After witnessing a murder committed by a powerful mob boss, a woman is unexpectedly offered a job: cleaning up crime scenes and providing medical assistance for his organization. She must navigate a dangerous path, concealing what she saw from the authorities and keeping the secret long enough to raise money for her son’s vital operation.
The show originally aired on Fox in the US from 2022 to 2025, lasting four seasons with a total of 46 episodes. Now, all four seasons are available to stream on Netflix in the UK.
I’ve been following this show for a while, and it generally gets a solid 7 out of 10 on IMDb – that’s based on over 13,000 ratings, so it’s a pretty good sample! Most fans seem to agree the first few seasons were the strongest. Honestly, it feels like things started to repeat themselves later on, and it was really sad when they wrote a character off because the actor sadly passed away. It definitely impacted the show, and you can tell.
