Tom Hardy‘s limited series Taboo will be leaving BBC iPlayer in just a matter of days.
In collaboration with his father, Chips Hardy, and Steven Knight from “Peaky Blinders,” this engrossing period drama was jointly created. Consisting of eight captivating episodes, it can be streamed on iPlayer until the 11th of June.
The show made its debut in 2017, derived from a tale penned by the team of Hardy writers – father and son. In this historical setting of 1814 England, Tom Hardy assumes the role of James Delaney, a character who is both an adventurer and a businessman.
After a 12-year sojourn in Africa, James comes back home upon the demise of his father, with the war between Great Britain and the U.S. about to wind down.
Additionally featuring Jessie Buckley, Mark Gatiss, and Stephen Graham, the series Taboo delves into the rot within the East India Company, revealing the disparities between the upper and lower classes, as well as highlighting the struggles of the impoverished working-class communities.

Originally broadcast on BBC One in the UK and FX in the United States during early 2017, this series was jointly produced by Hardy and Ridley Scott.
Upon its premiere, it was generally well-received, earning praise for Hardy’s acting, the unconventional speed and ideas presented.
Taboo is now Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, with a 76% critics’ score out of 68 reviews.
The Guardian featured the series in their top TV picks for 2017, describing it in their year-end review as “a wildly eccentric, Georgian-era drama starring Tom Hardy that includes disturbing scenes of incest and exorcism, and features gunpowder plots. It’s nothing short of crazy from start to finish.

Hardy currently stars in Paramount+ star-studded series MobLand, executive produced by Guy Ritchie.
The story revolves around a battle between two powerful crime families in London – the Harrigans and the Stevensons. In this role, Hardy takes on Harry Da Souza, an associate working for the Harrigans, while Conrad Harrigan, played by Pierce Brosnan, and Maeve Harrigan, portrayed by Helen Mirren, are depicted as the leading figures of the family.
Taboo can be streamed on BBC iPlayer until June 11th. On the other hand, MobLand is available for streaming on Paramount+, with its last episode set to release on June 1st.
