Stranger Things’ Winona Ryder “cried” over co-stars discovery
As a gamer with decades of life experiences under my belt, I can’t help but feel a pang of nostalgia when I hear about Winona Ryder’s tearful moment on the set of Stranger Things. It’s not just about the album or the show, it’s about the rich tapestry of history that seems to be slipping away from our younger generation.
In a recent revelation, Winona Ryder from ‘Stranger Things’ admitted she shed tears when her onscreen colleagues failed to recognize an album based solely on its cover.
The actress portraying Joyce Byers in the Netflix series is currently filming for the fifth and concluding season, set to premiere next year.
During an interview with Esquire, Ryder reminisced about a notably awkward incident during the filming of the first season. She disclosed that her young cast members – Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, Caleb McLaughlin, and Gaten Matarazzo – were taken aback when she showed them an important album from her childhood.
She reminisced, “I shed tears,” she said. “It seems to me that social media has significantly altered everything, and it might sound outdated to some. Yet, I acknowledge that sentiment. And sometimes, a part of me wonders, ‘Oh dear, am I now akin to vaudeville?’ As in: ‘Hey there, youngsters, could you please lower the volume?'”
“It seems to me that there is simply a wealth of material in film history and photography – it’s incredibly dense and full of treasures. I don’t propose going back in time, but I sincerely hope that upcoming generations will delve into this rich heritage.”
The interview took place during the promotional events of the movie “Beetlejuice,” where Winona Ryder once again portrays Lydia Deetz. In this sequel, Lydia is now married and has a daughter. Justin Theroux and Jenna Ortega are the actors who bring her husband and daughter to life. Interestingly, it’s been over 35 years since she met Beetlejuice (played by Michael Keaton) for the first time in this film.
Keaton, along with Catherine O’Hara and Monica Bellucci, has shared tantalizing glimpses into the highly-anticipated sequel. According to his recent comments, Tim Burton’s new movie enhances aspects from the original film.
Speaking as a fervent admirer, let me share my thoughts: This piece boasts a richer narrative compared to the previous one. It establishes a deeper bond with the characters, making it more relatable for the viewers. There are elements in here that took me by surprise, leaving me absolutely charmed. Instead of eagerly anticipating specific scenes or characters like Beetlejuice, I found myself engrossed in the unfolding storyline, eager to see how it all unravels.
1) The first four seasons of Stranger Things, currently streaming on Netflix, have a concluding chapter in production.
