The popular Netflix series Stranger Things has released its final trailer, signaling the end of the show.
Okay, so the final episode, ‘Chapter Eight: The Rightside Up’, drops on New Year’s Eve, and they just dropped a new clip! It looks like we’re in for one last huge battle, and it’s gonna take the crew somewhere completely new – beyond Hawkins, apparently. I’m so hyped!
The new teaser focuses on Eleven, the character played by Millie Bobby Brown who has special powers. It shows flashbacks to earlier seasons, reminding viewers of the difficult experiences Eleven has faced, while Hopper encourages her to keep fighting.
What to Read Next
Hopper often tries to encourage her, and in one of those moments, he tells her life hasn’t been easy on her – a sentiment the show has made familiar.
He continued, saying that your early years were stolen from you, and that despite being hurt and controlled by awful people, you remained unbroken.

With Stranger Things heading into its final season, a new preview highlights the show’s villains, Vecna (played by Jamie Campbell Bower) and Dr. Martin Brenner (Matthew Modine), and how they both exploited Eleven for their own purposes.
Hopper’s voice keeps going, urging Eleven to keep fighting for a future beyond Hawkins, and finishes with his familiar line: “Let’s end this, kid.”
The scene also shows Eleven preparing to enter the large sensory deprivation tank at the Hawkins Lab in the Upside Down.
The rest of the group moves forward with Steve’s (Joe Keery) plan. (Be warned: spoilers follow for those who haven’t finished season 5 volume 2!)
After discovering the Upside Down is actually a connection – a wormhole – to another dimension, the heroes realized Vecna’s plan was to combine our world with that terrifying place.
In one part of the video, Dustin, Lucas, and their friends are on top of the Squawk tower. They look up in surprise as the strange material creating the bridge to another dimension appears closer and more unstable than before.
“Mother of god,” Dustin says in disbelief, and that pretty much sums up our feelings, too.

El’s sister, Kali (also known as Eight and played by Linnea Berthelsen), who recently reappeared after a short role in season 2, is largely missing from the footage – appearing for only a single, quick frame.
In the fifth season’s seventh episode, ‘The Bridge,’ Kali proposed that Eleven stay behind in the Upside Down after they closed the gate, making the ultimate sacrifice. Her reasoning was that if both Eleven and Kali were missing, the US government would likely stop experimenting with people who have powers, now that Vecna was hopefully defeated.
Considering everything, Hopper’s quote, “Fight for the days on the other side of this,” feels particularly heartbreaking.
But will El go along with Kali’s plan? Only one way to find out.
The final episodes of Stranger Things will be released on Netflix on New Year’s Eve in the United States. Viewers in the UK can watch the finale at 1 AM on New Year’s Day because of the time difference.
Season 5 episodes 1-7 are streaming now, as are seasons 1-4.
The latest issue of Living Legends magazine is now available, and it’s a special tribute to Dolly Parton! You can find ‘Dolly at 80’ in shops or online for only £8.99.
