Stranger Things star’s new horror is now available to watch on Netflix
As a horror enthusiast who has seen my fair share of spine-chilling films, I must say that The Deliverance is a captivating addition to the genre. With its impressive cast and gripping storyline, it’s a must-watch for any fan of suspenseful cinema.
You can now stream “The Deliverance” on Netflix, featuring Caleb McLaughlin from “Stranger Things” as one of the leading characters.
Drawing from real-life events, this chilling film unfolds around the character of Ebony Jackson, portrayed by Andra Day. As a dedicated single parent, she relocates her household to a fresh abode, aiming to escape her past troubles and embark on a new chapter in life.
Yet, a series of unusual incidents take place within the home, causing Child Protection Services to grow wary.
Ebony struggles not just to protect her own life, but also the spiritual well-being of her kids, Shante (Demi Singleton), Nate (Caleb McLaughlin), and young Dre (Anthony B. Jenkins). This battle is waged against an unseen danger.
Under the direction of Lee Daniels, the cast of The Deliverance includes Glenn Close, who you may recognize from Guardians of the Galaxy, along with Miss Lawrence from The United States vs. Billie Holiday, award-winning actress Mo’Nique, and Omar Epps, a familiar face from Power Book III: Raising Kanan.
Before its premiere on Netflix, I was thrilled to learn that the film had already garnered a 46% rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on 28 reviews.
In “The Deliverance”, the supernatural elements, particularly those related to the devil, tend to feel overly familiar and as a result, lack the terror they should provoke, according to Owen Gleiberman’s review in Variety.
Caleb McLaughlin, most recognized for his role as Lucas Sinclair in “Stranger Things,” is currently working on the fifth and last season of this popular series.
In the year we’re currently in, the actor graced our screens in “The Book of Clarence,” a production that premiered in the UK on April 19th. The ensemble for this biblical comedy was quite impressive, featuring LaKeith Stanfield, star from the series “Lupin,” Teyana Taylor from “Coming 2 America,” Omar Sy, James McAvoy, Benedict Cumberbatch, Micheal Ward, and David Oyelowo.
I’m thrilled to share that I’ll be at the helm of a captivating biopic about the phenomenal Atlanta rapper known as 21 Savage. Titled “American Dream: The 21 Savage Story“, this project promises an enthralling journey into the life and music of this talented artist.
