Stranger Things star pokes fun at long season 5 wait
As a devoted fan who has grown up alongside the Stranger Things cast, I can’t help but feel a mix of excitement and impatience as we wait for season five. It’s been quite a journey watching these characters evolve over the years, and it feels surreal to think that this will be their final outing.
As a die-hard Stranger Things fan, I can’t help but joke about the lengthy anticipation we’re all facing for season five, just like our beloved Caleb McLaughlin did on social media!
For two years now, the fourth season of that popular Netflix series has been available on their streaming platform. However, viewers will need to be patient as they won’t get to see the fifth and concluding season for some time yet.
It’s worth noting that the co-creator Ross Duffer has revealed that we are just midway through the production of the final season. Additionally, the post-production work may delay its release even more.
McLaughlin, portraying Lucas, recently joked on Twitter about the prolonged waiting period. He shared an altered image featuring his co-stars Maya Hawke as Robin and Sadie Sink as Max, both depicted as grown-ups.

The significant gap between seasons four and five was mainly due to the writer’s and actor’s strikes that occurred in 2023. Consequently, filming didn’t commence until January 2024, although seasons four ended in September and five finished in November.
Last week, Ross Duffer marked both the midpoint of our current filming and the eighth anniversary of season one’s premiere in 2016 by posting a backstage video featuring our cast and crew on set.
Millie Bobby Brown, who plays Eleven, shared in a video that she began acting at age ten and is now reaching her twentieth birthday. She expressed it felt quite unusual for her.
Natalia Dyer, playing Nancy, noted that they are enjoying each moment to its fullest. Meanwhile, Jamie Campbell Bower hinted about season four being large, but emphasized that season five seems even more expansive.
In the upcoming fifth season, some fresh actors such as Nell Fisher, Jake Connelly, and Alex Breaux will join our primary cast. At this point, the specific roles each of them will portray remain undisclosed.
