Still not ready for the world of Stranger Things to end? Good news! Netflix has announced that Stranger Things: Tales from ’85, an animated spin-off taking place between seasons two and three, will be released soon.
Now that the hit show about growing up with a sci-fi twist has just finished, the streaming service announced the new season will arrive on April 23rd. That means fans won’t have to wait long to return to the story and characters they love.
To add to the excitement, a new trailer was also released. It shows Will hoping to spend time with Eleven during the winter, though Hopper doesn’t seem to approve.

The friends enjoy a snowy day with their usual D&D game, but their fun is interrupted by a strange, growing worm-like creature. It gets so big, it even uses a pumpkin as a head!
The original actors from the live-action show didn’t return to voice the characters. Instead, a new cast – including Brooklyn Davey Norstedt, Brett Gipson, Luca Diaz, Braxton Quinney, Elisha Williams, and Odessa A’zion – now provides the voices.

According to Tudum, the new season of the show is set in the winter of 1985 in Hawkins. The main characters will face new monsters and try to solve a strange, frightening mystery that’s plaguing their town.
Before the show’s release, executive producer and director Shawn Levy told The Hollywood Reporter that viewers can expect something fresh and not just a simple continuation of the original series they already enjoy.

Okay, so this feels totally different – the vibe and how it looks are a big change. What’s really cool is it’s diving into parts of the story and backstory we’ve never really seen in the main show – you know, the one we all started with. It’s filling in gaps and giving us a deeper understanding of the world.
The creators, the Duffers, were inspired by the family-friendly animation and cartoons of the 80s and 90s, and this show aims to capture that same feeling. While it shares some DNA with Stranger Things, it’s definitely its own unique story with a distinct style and mood.
Stranger Things: Tales from ’85 premieres on Netflix on 23 April.
The latest issue of Living Legends, a vibrant, full-color magazine celebrating Taylor Swift, is now available! You can find it in newsagents or order it online for only £8.99.
