The creators of Netflix’s Stranger Things, Ross and Matt Duffer, have hinted that the show’s fifth and final season will feature its most shocking and violent death yet. The season will be released in three parts, arriving on November 25th, December 25th, and December 31st.
But which beloved character will fans be mourning in the new year?
The final season will arrive nearly ten years after the show first premiered in 2016. The Duffer brothers, the creators of the series, said they intentionally spaced out the seasons to allow the story to grow alongside its audience and characters.

We keep attracting new viewers, which is great,” Ross said to The Times. “We just hope parents aren’t upset with what we’re doing.
Matt shared that the next season will be less focused on intense violence compared to the last one, which had many frightening and harsh moments with the villain Vecna. Despite this, he stated that season five will include the most shocking and impactful death seen in any season so far.

The brothers didn’t reveal how the show ended, but Matt explained they focused on staying true to the story, which might not satisfy everyone.
As a fan, I always felt like the showrunners really prioritized making sure each character’s journey concluded in a way that felt true to them, even if it wasn’t necessarily the happy ending everyone wanted. They seemed to believe getting the character arcs right was more important than just pleasing the audience, and honestly, I respect that.

Okay, so everyone’s been buzzing about Steve Harrington – Joe Keery, you know? – and honestly, I’m a little worried too. He barely showed up in the new trailer, and that’s got a lot of us fans thinking something’s up with his character. I’m hoping he’s not getting sidelined!
Even though Steve appears in some scenes, viewers worried he might die in the final episodes of the season, where the group faces Vecna in a last stand.
The story is building to a final showdown, and it promises a danger greater than anything the characters have experienced so far. The official description hints that the entire team will need to unite for one last stand to finally resolve the conflict.
Will Vecna claim any more victims before his reign of terror comes to end?
The fifth and final season of Stranger Things will be released in three parts. The first part arrives on November 25th, followed by the second on December 25th, and the third on December 31st.
