Stranger Things introduces new cast members, highlights old favorites in season 5 video
As a devoted fan of Stranger Things, I can’t help but feel a mix of excitement and nostalgia as I watch the behind-the-scenes video for the upcoming fifth and final season. It feels like just yesterday when we were all huddled around our screens, binge-watching the first season and marveling at the unique blend of science fiction, horror, and coming-of-age storytelling. And now, over two years have passed since the fourth season left us on the edge of our seats, wondering what horrors await our beloved group of heroes in Hawkins.
I can’t believe it’s been over two years since we bid farewell to the fourth season of Stranger Things on Netflix. The production of the fifth and final season started off later than anticipated last year due to actors and writers strikes shaking up Hollywood. However, things are moving forward now and filming is in full swing. Just this month, co-showrunner Matt Duffer shared a sneak peek behind the scenes with an Instagram post, marking the halfway point of production.
Now, Netflix has outdone themselves by releasing an exclusive behind-the-scenes video, giving us a peek into the day-to-day activities of our beloved Ghostbusters team on set. Feel free to check it out at the beginning of this article.
In the fourth installment of “Stranger Things,” our 1980s protagonists were left reeling as the malevolent entity Vecna breached the boundary between worlds, merging the terrifying Upside Down with Hawkins, Indiana. Despite the ominous signs, everyday life in Hawkins persisted; Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo), Will (Noah Schnapp), Mike (Finn Wolfhard), and Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin) were still seen navigating their high school corridors. Though the town was under siege, normalcy wasn’t completely abandoned just yet.
I’ve been a huge fan of Millie Bobby Brown, aka Eleven in “Stranger Things,” since she was just 10 years old when she began working on the show. Now, as I turn 20, it’s amazing to reflect on how long the cast and crew have dedicated themselves to this project. It’s been a joy to watch some of the stars grow up right before our eyes on screen.
The video doesn’t have a specified release date, and to be honest, we didn’t anticipate one. If filming of season 5 has reached its midpoint, they still have several months left to complete, and production may continue until early 2025. Consequently, the last episodes might not surface before late 2025 at the soonest. Here’s hoping it’ll all be worth the wait.
